I loved my previous owned GE Profile cooktop until a burner failed and a replacement part was no longer available. So I purchased another GE Profile cooktop. There are a couple of features that I do not like about this new one. First the buner does not shut off automatically in a short period of time when you have taken the pot off. The burner stays on until you turn it off. The burner on the previou one would have a red light after you turned it off but the light stayed on indicating that the burner was still hot until it completely cooled down. The new one the "hot" light is on after it is turned off but only stays a shorter period of time. So it is still somewhat hot with no indication that it is. The timer is not as loud as the previous cooktop. This new timer is so low that you can hardly hear it if there is talking or the tv is on in the room connected to the kitchen. Also it was a very expensive cost and time consuming for the necessity of having to change the electric wiring and breaker from a 30amp to a 50 amp circuit. Lastly I still find it hard to figure out a medium heat range with the touch control. I am still guessing at it when I cooking certain things. The power boil is an ok feature that is a plus.

I feel so proud of my new GE cooktop. It looks so beautiful in my kitchen. It actually makes me feel a little well off and heightens my spirits when I go to the kitchen in the morning and see it gleaming there.

We have had GE Profile appliances for 10 plus years, lost our cook top from probable power surge. Replaced GE Profile with GE Profile. We had zero issues with the first GE cook top, expect the same with the new one.
