What is included with our deck design and installation services?

From start to finish, RONA is with you every step of the way. First, submit your information by filling out our online form. We will put you in touch with a specialist, with whom you will design a first draft of your plan and discuss the materials, the colors and the various services that are made available during the installation.

Once your project has been approved, our service provider will contact you within 3 to 5 business days to come over and measure your land. The plans for your project will be made based on these measurements and will be finalized by our designers. Once the plans are complete, it will be time to confirm the chosen elements and sign the sales contract. From that moment, the necessary materials will be ordered and no cancellations will be possible.

The installer will then contact you to plan the installation of your new patio or deck. Please note that the removal of your old patio or deck is not included in our basic service but can be added for an additional charge. As a final step, your installer will inspect the job with you to ensure your satisfaction and clean up the job site before leaving.

RONA offers a variety of materials and colours to fit all needs and house styles

Pressure-treated wood

Pressure-treated lumber is the most used decking material due to its low cost and minimal maintenance needs. It only requires to be pressure-washed and stained annually and refinished every 3 years.

Cedar

Heartwood is preferred to ensure uniformity of wood grain. It requires minimal maintenance; a semi-transparent oil-based stain must be re-applied annually after cleaning the surface with a scrub brush, soap, and water. It must then be refinished every 3 to 4 years.

Composite

This material is even grained and is offered in various colours. Composite lasts at least twice as long as pressure-treated wood if cared for properly, that being cleaned one to three times a year with a brush. Note that certain liquids may leave stains and that scuffs and scratches are likely.

Need help finding the right product for you?

The sketch will help us help you successfully carry out the ideal deck project based on your home, lifestyle, and landscape.

Before going into the details, you need to calculate the approximate size of the deck or the patio. You need to make sure that there is enough space for each activity as well as for the number of people who will be using the different areas. If you are unsure, it is recommended to calculate 100 ft2 per person. If the terrain is steep and you want to delimit various activity areas, a multi-level patio or deck is a good solution. If everything is well thought out, a multi-level patio or deck can also avoid the need for a railing and stairs.

Next, you need to create a site plan of your yard. This should include the outline of the house, property lines, buried utilities, existing exterior structures, and exterior siding and landscaping. It is essential to identify any items that need to be moved or retained on the property. You must also add notes and references related to the land of the neighbors and identify the characteristics or equipment located outside the limits of the property, but which have an influence on the design of the deck or patio.

Installation-related questions
When can you start … and finish?

For major projects such as kitchen and bathroom renovations, please allow additional time for essential steps including in-store consultations to create the plan, measuring process, and work order issuance.

Bear in mind that product availability, weather conditions, client availability, and work area conditions may have an impact on project timelines.
How do you ensure that your customers are satisfied?
