Need Repair Contact
After no more than 12 runs, the machine just won't start up anymore. From what I'm reading this seems to be a chronic problem. I am having a hard time finding a place to repair it in Montreal. I'm hoping a Craftsman rep will respond and help me out.

bad solder joint on circuit board
While inspecting the speed contoller circuit board, I noticed a broken solder joint at the gate lead of the triac. My guess is that this may have tested OK at the machine's time of production, but with a shake or two during normal use, the electrical connection became deteriorated.
Both the triac (part number BTA26600B) and the 16-pin speed-control integrated circuit (U2010B) are no longer being made, but still can be found (with luck).
The speed-control is a "soft-start" type, for universal motor (i.e. using carbon brushes).

I’ve used this product 3 times now. Just like so many others on the review board it does on me on the middle of a pass. Won’t turn back on at all. I cleaned it all up, vacuumed everything out and still nothing. I thought craftsman was making a comeback, nope I was wrong.

Not Reliable
Bought this jointer new from a local store. Tried to turn on and would not start. Have tried looking up stuff online to try and get it to work but have not found anything. Would not recommend this product.

Unreliable, do not buy
This just stoped working after maybe 50 passes, variable speeds and thickness. Started out great but does not last. Called the craftsman line and they basically just read the manual to you. Finding replacements parts is a hassle. Calling help line again to see if they will honor the 3 year
