what is the max length from ceiling to roof line
The maximum install length for a 14" rigid SUN TUNNEL Skylight, including the TGR 014 is 25 feet, between ceiling and dome. It comes with 4’ in the box (a 2’ section and 2 elbow sections). When more is needed, add ZTR extensions. The dome of the TGR version follows the slope of the roof and this version is best suited for south facing roofs. A TMR version sits higher and should be used for any other roof orientation (North, East or West) for better light capture.

Can this be installed horizontally? I live in the lower suite and want the tube to come in under a deck into my kitchen. I would assume one would have to build a box around it to hold it in place and the light would obviously not come in from the ceiling
Thank you for your question. All tubular skylights are designed to perform in a vertical application. When installed vertically, even with angles, any humidity within the tunnel rises and escapes through integrated gaskets. In a horizontal position, humidity would likely become trapped, condense and pool. Should this water stay trapped, it could result in damage or promote mold. When installed in the horizontal, we cannot guarantee performance. Perhaps there is another solution for the room you have in mind, as the roof and ceiling sections do not need to be lined up.
