Yes, it is on the loud side, but keep in mind it is a commercial fan designed to move a large volume of air a long distance away. excellent 360 degree swivel (Honeywell and other knock off brands do not tilt down.). The most impressive feature is the aluminum blade, which means that there is no blade deflection. Blade deflection leads to a serious loss of air flow. Fantastic deal.

You feel it!!!!
We have an extension to our home upstairs which does not benefit from the air conditioning in the lower half. We have tried many different models of fans but to-date this is the very best. The only fault with it is that it is loud! You'll need to put your cellphone, alarm clock, and everything else you need to hear as loud as possible. I gave it a 4-star rating only because of this.

Lots of wind
It is a bit bigger than what I was hoping for. In fact I call it huge. I was hoping to place it in my living room window and was some carpentry work I was able to do it. It does blow a lot of wind and the fan blade noise is free. At least the cage does not rattle so far during my one time 3 hour usage. If you want a lot of air movement and don't mind the fan noise then this is as good as any.
