Simple Wire Shelf adds functionality to GearTrack
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little shelf adds functionality to the GearTrack and GearWall systems, in addition to the many hooks, baskets, caddy, etc. that Gladiator sells. The Gladiator wall systems can be configured to store almost any item in your house or garage.
While the hooks shown in the pictures are great and can hold heavy loads (even my post driver which I was always tripping over until I purchased the Big Hook), not everything is capable of being hung from a hook.
As you can see in the pictures, I used the GearTracks to hang Gladiator cabinets, which are great, and extended them beyond the end of the cabinet. This makes a nice area with hooks and other accessories I use to store things that don't fit well in the cabinets. The shelf is a nice addition to place things commonly used or that do not fit in the cabinets easily.
In addition to the wire shelf, discussed in more detail below, I highly recommend the Accessory Starter Kit Deluxe which comes with about every type of hook or bin you need to hang or organize every item in your garage using either the GearWalls or GearTracks. The wire shelf is a nice supplement to the Deluxe Starter Kit, and allows other items to be stored.
The wire shelf is 24" long and is very sturdy. It held at least the listed 35lbs capacity. The wires are close enough together so items do not fall through the shelf. The installation was easy and it snapped securely in place. When first installed, the wire shelf when weight was added tilted slightly downward toward the front edge. After some investigation I determined that the wall the GearTrack was mounted on was not perfectly vertical, and the GearTrack needs to be installed ninety degrees relative to level so that the shelf will stay level when weight is applied. This wasn't a fault of the shelf, but rather an issue with the mounting surface. I added a couple shims under the lower edge of the GearTrack, which corrected the problem and the shelf was level while loaded and worked great.

Well constructed and durable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gladiator wire shelving is well constructed and durable. Most importantly, it's a snap to install once the main support track is in place. I've found that the Gladiator storage system to be a great way to keep my garage clean, neat and organized.

Versatility
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shelf is very versatile. I currently am using it in my kid's play/sports area of the garage. I like the fact that it is an open wire shelf, so I can set wet items can air out and dry. That will also be nice for things that might get sweaty and musty, like helmets or gloves. The size is perfect. Big enough to sort and store like items, but not so big that I feel the need to fill empty shelf space with random items. The best part of the shelf is that, as my needs change, I can move this shelf around on the Gladiator gear wall where I need it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is super sturdy and looks great on the gear track. I wish it could be flipped so it had a lip to keep items from rolling off. I have tried several different set ups and even strapped an air compressor to it. It held but wasnt for me. Great product.
