A great concept with a few problems.
I installed this humidifier about 5 weeks ago, so it is early to opine on its performance. I will try to update this once I have more experience with it.
The concept of this equipment is very smart design. I am very happy to be able to get away from pads - slab pads or drum pads - which are a royal pain and the performance of which declines over times. The discs on this machine do a great job and can be cleaned (note: I haven't done that yet).
I have a large home (4500 sq. ft.) which is beyond this unit's rated capacity. Regardless, it's doing the job. I have to put the furnace on "fan" setting in order to have the humidifier working continuously. When it was on the "heat" setting, it didn't even come close to being able to humidify the house. Once on FAN, the humidity is perfect throughout the house.
Installation in roughly the same as every other furnace humidifier, so no pluses or minuses on that coin.
Here are my quibbles. (1) the title of this review references a unit called "automated mineral management furnace humidifier". It isn't. The autoflush attachment is NOT INCLUDED. You have to buy it separately and I don't think Rona carries it. So the unit is misrepresented. There's a big label on the box that says "AutoFlush not Included" so it isn't a matter of the supplier not telling Rona. You can get the autoflush mechanism but to the extent that I have been able to assess it on the net, I doubt if it is worth it. To flush the humidifier manually, you need a bucket and have to remove the cap on the drain. Simple.
(2). The unit has an emergency drain on it which is nothing more than a hole in the side of the water pan. It is intended to allow water to escape if the float valve should ever stick open. Good idea. The problem is that there has been no thought given to where this water goes once it overflows. In my case it would end up on the floor and flow beneath my furnace to the floor drain. And that might cause disaster because the water could get sucked up into the furnace and end up shorting the control panel - a $1000 replacement bill in the making. I know because it happened to me a few years back courtesy of a leaking pipe. All that the manufacturer had to do to avoid this issue is to put a small nipple on the water pan where they currently just put a hole. Then you would only need to attach a length of plastic tubing to carry water to the drain. As it is, this feature is just dumb and an invitation to make a small problem into a large one. I installed a nipple and tubing but it meant I had to make a trip to the store to get stuff and then bore a larger hole to accommodate the nipple - all the while holding my breath hoping the water pan wouldn't crack because of my drilling. Annoying and two hours wasted.
(3) I'm not happy with how the unit attaches to the furnace. Its weight causes the sheet metal to bulge out which means the unit isn't level. This bulge might get worse over time. So I had to construct and install a support bracket to level the unit and take some of the strain off the mount. This would be avoided if the manufacturer included a mounting bracket that provides 360 degree support instead of just a hanging bracket that permits the unit to hang off kilter.
In sum, a very nice piece of equipment that would be rated five stars except for the three items I have listed. It functions very well so far and that is what counts.

Ordering parts costs You an arm and a leg to ship!
Bought this humidifier. Works okay. You need to run it at 100 % humidity to get 50 % humidity in your home. The drain plug on the underside broke and had to order a new part. They want 4 dollars and 5 cents to replace and 27 dollars for shipping. I didn't realize that they ship by either a taxi or and airplane. 27 dollars for shipping from Missisaugua to St. Catharines. I'd rather buy a different brand of humidifier than this garbage of a company. Do not buy from this company. Worst customer service ever. You think they would just send me another one for free? That what good customer service does!

Good unit for whole house humidity.
We installed the humidifier this weekend. Fairly easy if you have DIY skills or if you've done it previously - we had installed one in our old house a few years ago. You need to run electrical and plumbing to the unit.
Took us about 4 hours, but we had already done the water line when installing our water softener so saved some time on that. Once you have the water, electrical and holes made on the ducting, actually putting it together is fairly simple. Regular cleaning is a must, as the unit will pick up minerals. I take out the drum and soak it in CLR, then wash the blue basin with CLR as well. Do it twice a year, I do it when we change furnace filters in spring and fall.

Dissapointing
The humidifier had a missing float.
Luckily I had an old float that fit tghis humidifier.
It ewas obviously a return that wasn't checked for completetness.

Malfonvtionnement presque total !

No water waste, simple install
I did research on various bypass furnace humidifiers but didn't want the old wait foam roller style, or the modern water wasters. This incorporates plastic discs that rotate. We were without a humidifier for 2 winters, and noticed a significant improvement in the humidity in the house after install.
We provided extra supports underneath the unit (L brackets) for peace of mind
Well worth the wait. Very happy so far.

One of those best products ever!
Purchased in 2008 after studying several styles. Installed the auto blowdown as well. Had to do my instrumentation thing and modify the blowdown solenoid as the rubber plunger would stick due to surface tension of the water / seat. Also, threw away the puncture style water valve and put in a line size one after studying mold formations. I would do periodic inspections for mold, which is a huge health concern with humidifiers. I found that once the larger valve was installed and the pan was flushed well every drain cycle, any signs of mold disappeared from inside the drum. Any minerals will be a problem and this system still requires maintenance, though much less. I've replaced the float once, cleaned the pan seasonally, and that's about it. Highly recommend. Control is directly through my thermostat. No matter what they tell you, nothing is maintenance free, though this comes much closer to any i've reviewed, if installed to work as the designers intended. Do your homework.....and watch for black mold!
