The mouse escaped as I was carrying the trap
If you hold this trap upright while carrying it, it takes about two seconds for the mouse to scale the inside of the trap, pop the door open, and leap out. I also don't think the bait cap would survive a determined mouse for very long.

Great little trap
Bought 2 of these after seeing a mouse in my basement. First night I put them down and the mouse managed to get the nut butter out of both without triggering them to close. Turns out the little trap door will get stuck when placed on carpet. Next night I placed 1 of the traps down on linoleum and within 40 minutes I had caught and released Mr mouse! They do feel a bit flimsy so I can definitely see why they get negative reviews. I would not trust it to hold a mouse for any extended length of time but overall I am very happy with this purchase, and will absolutely use it again if I need to.

Stopped working or mouse got wiser
The first one I borrowed had a different door and worked great. We caught and released 7 mouse (an entire family). The one like this "newer model" caught the mouse but it rattled so much the trap, that the door opened and the mouse got loose...twice. The bigger metal trap works better.

Worst mouse trap ever.
Found we had a mouse in our main bathroom. Bought 2 traps. first night I set it up when I got up in the morning to check it the trap door was closed but upon picking it up I noticed the door that snaps in (where the bait goes) was missing. Took everything out of cupboard and gone, no sign of it! Next night set up trap number 2. Got up and trap door and snap on door both intact but PB gone and no sign of the mouse! Third night reset trap and got up in the morning to find the trap completely gone!!!!!!! This mouse managed to actually move this trap from the far end of the cupboard, over cleaning products to the hole where the pipes go and I found it under the pipes. There was chewed plastic all over and again the door that clicks in was completely gone. Won't buy it again. It was a waste of money.
