It absorbs water faster than peat moss and retains moisture and nutrients effectively. The moss holds up to 20 times its dry weight in water, gradually releasing it as plants need it, reducing the need for watering as much. It loosens and aerates heavy clay soil, making it easier for roots to grow, and improves water and nutrient retention in sandy soils.
