Does this unit need an outside support for installation? I have just purchased this unit and want to have what is needed when I install it
I installed this unit without outside support. I have a 20.5" wide window that slides up. It sits on the sill and needs no support once the window is pulled down to keep it from moving. I've only had it for 2 weeks but it cools my apartment quickly and is not too noisy.

Do I need to put extra support outside the window? My window closes from the side and not from the top.Where can I find the manual for this unit?

Great Air conditioner!
I bought this air conditioner about one month ago. I was using a portable air conditioner and it wasn't cooling the area. I installed this window air conditioner and I hate to complain but I have had to put a sweater on because it works so well!! It was not a problem to install and it didn't need outside supports. the support that came with it to attach to the window worked beautifully. I can happily recommend it.

WINDOW AC VS. FLOOR MODEL AC
TCL is a top notch 10,000 Window AC. I bought it to replace a Honeywell 10,000 BTU Floor Model AC that I purchased last year. I learned a valuable lesson, don't waste your money on a Floor Model AC, it does not compare to a window ac. Within 5 minutes of installing the window AC my apt was cool, something I just could not achieve with the floor model AC. I would recommend the TCL Window AC.
