Description
The Murphy Bed is the ideal space-saver for a multipurpose room. The EuroSlat mattress support system is designed to increase the sleeper's comfort. The bed folds up and down safely within seconds thanks to the dual piston system. The wall bed accommodates most standard Full mattresses (8-10 inches thick, 60-90 lb, 54 x 75 inches) and supports up to 1000 lb (including mattress). The open bed extends 85. 4 inches from the wall. The cabinet must be anchored to a wall with a minimum ceiling height of 86. 4 inches. Assign a clearance of 30-36 inches around the open bed. The storage unit comes with 2 fixed and 3 adjustable shelves, plus 3 drawers.

Beautiful unit but should NEVER
Beautiful unit but should NEVER be installed on thick carpet. Sits crooked even though the top is level. Sides don't attach to the wall and come apart. They should tell you that. Also doesn't come with a strap to hold down mattress. Have to screw with again. Damm. Heavy heavy. Very time consuming.

Poor quality
Its compressed wood. 2 side panels came damaged but too late as I need them for guest coming to my house. Open installing exterior handles one of the screws broke just pulling the bed down. I would not recommend this. Also, alignment is bad on this

Could be better
This set looks beautiful closed up, but the bed has flaws. The most egregious one is the fact that it will not stay down when opened. It seems to have been made for extremely heavy people. It needs some sort of adjusting mechanism for the weight of the sleeper. Also, I think the whole structure could be made an inch or two deeper to allow for a thicker, more comfortable mattress. (A 10" one we bought would not allow the bed to close, so we opted for 9" one which is much less comfortable.) Bestar sent us "weights" - actually 2 planks, with no instructions for how to use them. They definitely can't be used over the bar on the floor. ( We had been using bags of garden soil to hold down the bar. These worked very well, but are not the prettiest.)
