NICE
Got it a week ago. It's May, but with 15% off you take it. You need a truck to bring it home. Big box attached to a Pallet, 320lbs, loaded with a fork lift. Everything was as it should be, easy to assemble. I'll run the engine in a week or two. More in December when I get to use it.

Takes on anything wet heavy snow not a problem.
Bought this in the fall great blower not to big or small blows wet and heavy snow like nothing.
Compared to my old mtd 8.5/28 its night and day difference on how much better this is designed.
After my research these are the best blowers to buy in my opinion.

Auto turn failed after 40 hours, bad coil after 30
My previous Ariens 24” was flawless for over 30 years. Gave it to my son when I replaced it with this one. What a mistake. The coil for the spark plug (there are two coils in this machine) failed after about 30 hours of use, and right before two heavy snowfalls. I had to pay to transport it to the dealer and it was repaired under warranty. Yesterday, right before a big snow, the differential fails. And when it fails, you don’t lose just auto turn, you lose ALL power to the wheels, so again I have a useless snowblower. It is three months off warranty, I can’t live with an unreliable snowblower, so I had to buy a single stage battery one today to get me through. I used to brag up the reliability of my Ariens to my friends when their snowblowers would fail. Not anymore. Maybe I got unlucky with the coil, but do some research on Youtube about repairing that differential. It is not repairable, but replaceable. If you can live with the unreliability, buy a spare differential for when it fails, cause it surely will.

A reliable snowblower with a good reputation!
After 13 years, our Snapper snowblower stopped after a component within the engine broke. It was well maintained and was very reliable.
Rona had the Ariens Deluxe Series available and I have heard of the reliability of Ariens Snow blowers.
So far this winter, we haven't had the snow fall amounts that we usually get, but that can change. The Ariens snowblower has been running very well so far. It's overall weight is lighter than our Snapper snowblower, which I believe will be easier for my wife to handle. I like the familiar manual controls for turning the snow chute(our snapper snow thrower had electric controls for the snow chute, which sometimes failed). The auto-turn feature works well on the Ariens blower. I don't have to struggle turning the snowblower. The fuel primer and and carberator controls are the same as my neigbors Husqvarna snow blower...very easy to use and reliable!
So far, I am very please with the reliability and the overall value compared to the price.

Miscommunications and satisfactions
The Ariens 24 Deluxe is a beast. Overkill really for the West coast, but I'm sick of wrecking my back each year for the 2 or 3 snowfalls that we get. I have to say that RONA pulled it outa the hat this time and I think only because I raised a stink about it. I ordered it online because well, thats what we all do now, right? Plus, I wanted it delivered. The website showed 69 of them available. Cool, No problem! Except that the very next day I got a call from someone stating that this would be a special order and that there were NONE on the west coast and that it would be upwards of 4-6 weeks to get it... Are you freaking kidding me?? I explained that I actually was playing with one in the store and that I was told that they would not sell it to me because it was the store's floor model. So I drove back to the store after a brief conversation with a nice lady and found that they had indeed sold the floor model that they would not sell me. WTF?!?! Long story short, they found one at another nearby RONA, even though they told me it was a special order.... and delivered it, assembled. Kudo's to the lady manager who helped me figure it out. But it was a classic case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing. I do not like big box stores for this reason. Ultimately I left satisfied but it was close, teetering on the edge of fury.
