Beautiful and Quality Construction

Lovely, but restrictive.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] GE Salma 1-Light Plug-In or Hardwire Wall Sconce (Gold, Smoked Amber Glass Shade, Black Fabric Cord, In-Line On/Off Switch) looks lovely...the box image that is. The ideal bulb is not included, no biggie, but that doesn't mean you can just grab any spare bulb and expect it to look the same! It's a MUST to get the right kind of light bulb for aesthetics. LED/white/60W/etc will just RUIN the ambience. (That amber glass shade ain't amber or a shade anymore!) A visiting handyman/fixer-upper relative was unimpressed with the included anchor and said it's too weak to support the weight of the fixture. Mounting was easy, but location options were rather limiting. The on/off switch could be placed lower on the cord so that the light can be mounted at a higher spot. (We're short.) In general, the sconce is lovely (if using the right type of light bulb), but not something that would impress someone that frequently fixes/replace light fixtures.

Perfect

It provides the perfect amount of light where I needed it most, .in my closet!! Now I can see what I have in there when I need to. It was easy to install, easy to use, and its so beautiful I almost hate to have it in my closet, but that's where I need it. It's absolutely perfect. I'll have to get more just to show it off!!

Great movable light

Gorgeous light fixture!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am putting a matching set of Salma matte brass wall sconce on either side of the bed in my master bedroom as reading lights. They look so gorgeous and are just the subtle light needed in bedside lights. The matte brass and smoke glass complement the cozy, moody vibe I am going for in this room. I personally really appreciate that these come with the plug in option as I don’t have the wiring for hardwired lights on this wall. These beautiful lights make the whole room!

I decided to install the light about my nightstand and bed to help free up room on my nightstand and it did just that. Beings that you can plug-in the light into an electrical outlet made installation a breeze. I love the way it helps to brighten up my room and allows for me to see better. I also like the fact I can get comfortable in bed and not have to get out of bed just to turn the overhead light off.
