It is recommended to fill the base with 22 litres of water or sand to add the additional weight needed to create a sturdy supportive base for the umbrella.

Perfect Size
Although I had to wait for the umbrella to catch up to the base, I find it to be just perfect for my deck space. The only thing I noticed is in the base. The device that tightens around the umbrella pole does not stop the umbrella from turning freely. I had to place a couple of cords to prevent it from swaying. Other than that I Love it.
