Solvable professional-grade toluene is an effective solvent for thinning various coatings, removing ink and adhesives from surfaces, and degreasing metal tools and hardware. It has a medium drying time, is less volatile and is slower to evaporate than acetone. It speeds up the drying process of oil-based paints and lacquers.
