infested with bugs
I bought this soil last year and just like the other two people my plants were soon infested with fungus knats which are IMMPOSSIBLE to get rid of. I have had to throw out my plants,the fungus has killed my plants and i still have these bugs a year later. im so mad! do not buy this soil

Awful mix - Never dries out in the slightest
Terrible potting mix. I have 12 various adult hot pepper plants in 3-5 gallon pots indoors. I also have qty 48 - 5.5" x 6" deep square pots indoors. House temp is around 22c or above daily. Humidity is around 40%-50%. Soil NEVER dries out. I mean I have left it unwatered for a MONTH and the soil was still drenched to the touch and smelled like rot. With the extrememly damp conditions, and likely the soil was contaminated, I ended up with a bad fungus gnat infestation. This never used to be a problem using other soils. Also, just about all pots are slowly growing a layer of white mould on top. To combat this I ended up purchasing several large bags of pearlite and mixing it into the soil. Hopefully it will allow it to drain somewhat.
This was a very expensive lesson to not use this product. I purchased 4 of the 28.3L Bags from Rona. Next step if the perlite does not help with drainage, and somehow help with the fungus gnats (attracted to rotting wet things) I will be replacing it with a better quality soil.
I have also used this soil outdoors in 5+ gallon pots and it still holds a crazy amount of water. I can guarantee it does not protect from overwatering. It actually causes overwatering by never drying out.

Will never buy again
Bought this soil just to find out that it came with gnats eggs so all my plants were infested and also had to throw some out!! Not happy

Works Well!
I tried this product in the spring and really loved it. Now I only buy this product as it keeps my plants so healthy. I'm notorious for not watering my plants on a regular basis. This saves the plants from my fickle watering schedule.
