Good soil, conveniently packaged for large jobs
I have used Pro-Mix potting soil in my container garden for a couple of years. It has a good consistency, and my plants are healthy. We recently acquired several very large containers and needed a huge amount of this soil to fill them. I liked that it comes in these very large, compressed packs. Despite the compression, they are not too heavy to carry up stairs, but they really expand to a huge volume once opened and fluffed up. The packs are very securely sealed to keep them from getting wet and heavy. Of course, this means that the soil is a bit dry (still a nice consistency and not dusty, but in need of watering before planting. So when filling a very large container, I recommend adding half a pack of soil, fluffing as you go, then water and mix together, then add another half pack, water and mix again, and so on.

I wish I found this sooner! Great Soil!!!
I was very pleased with my potting soil. I had bought that other brand for many years as it had a good name however the constant battle with soil gnats drove me to try something new. And I am so glad I tried this brand. There aren't all those twigs and big pieces of rubbish in this mix. It is vine, easy to form into soil blocks or fill small pots. It doesn't have the unidentified "additives" the other brand does either so no mystery fillers and why that other company let their product quality slide so much is a MIRACLE to me. The bag is large and weighs about 55 pounds which is a bit of a workout but when you slit the top open, the contents don't spill out and the soil easily breaks up for scooping. I gave this 5 stars for a darned good reason and I'm never going back to the other brand!

Great stuff!
I'm new to gardening and have no idea what I'm doing but I chose this soil based on it's good reviews. I haven't planted anything yet so can't comment in that regard. But I can say it looks like very good soil, no rubbish in it, stones or twigs etc. Densely packaged. Lots of soil in these bags!! I bought too many and am passing on a bag to my daughter. She's pleased. The soil is dark and sweet smelling. Looks good to me. Hopefully I'll grow some lovely colourful flowers and a good supply of sweet carrots..

This plant food is the only one we use and my husband is a landscaper! There is a noticeable difference in the plant growth when this is applied.
