Horrible Item.
For the love of your money and sanity, do not purchase this weed wacker. My SECOND use, the wacker string is completely unable to catch so it flies out every time I use the weed walker. Tried fixing it myself, with no luck.

Nice gas trimmer
I have mostly bought the "cheaper" product. I bought this one and glad I did. This starts better, easier. The ease of use. Moved the handle and it is nicely balanced. The control of the head is good. I had bought 2 of the "green" ones and will not go back. Will probably buy other attachments for it in the future. Great trimmer for the money!

Bought this trimmer to replace a 15-year-old gas trimmer. Unfortunately, I have had nothing but grief with it from Day 1. Would not recommend this to anyone not even my worst enemy.

Engineered to fail - Do not buy!
Got this trimmer for my 2021 summer season hedge trim, so pretty much spot on 2yrs ago at my local Rona store and used it only a couple hours in 2021-22 and today my first time using it, with new fuel, correct oil ratio, startup procedure, the product broke after 5mins of use. This failure shows how bad products are engineered today with very thin wall in critical locations that lead to premature failure. I've include photo's of the issue, where the cylinder head meet the crankcase there is a thin 90 degree portion at the base of the cylinder that cracks up to the base of the crankcase.
And they don't just sell the cylinder head but only the whole block assembly on their parts website at almost the price I paid back for the thing in 2021 ... great!
I will be contacting Crasftman's support on this, let's see how it goes, I will update this review and reevaluate my rating/review based on their response.

Disappointed
I bought this weedeater last summer. I have always used Craftsman, tools and all my lawn equipment. It started easily and I was satisfied with the purchase. Then three weeks ago I couldn't get it to start. I have tried each time I mow to no prevail. I tried new gas, new spark plug, tried cleaning the carburetor. It has been frustrating since I have no backup weedeater. I am disappointed because this weedeater is not even a year old. I don't want to switch to another brand, but I may not be given an option. Craftsman has always been my top choice, but now I may be trying Stihl. All the small engine shops are 3 weeks our for repairs. I can't wait that long. Disappointed customer for 20+ years.

Throws properly installed string
Have had this a little less than a year. Worked fine after one string replacement, but now I can't get the bump release to work correctly, it just throws all the string out, or doesn't do anything at all. Have gone through 7 or 8 different attempts to replace with no luck. Product is useless without the string.
