Toast didn’t fit
Bought it to toast homemade bread from our 1lb bread maker. I’d been cutting the loaves on their side so the slices wouldn’t be too tall to fit our last toaster. Two slices on their side needs to be slightly crammed in which bends one piece and toasts unevenly. If i turn the slices upright so that the rectangular slices are taller than they are wide, they’ll fit but the tops stick out about a good inch from the top of the toaster, so in the end it still only toasts one slice of homemade bread from a 1lb breadmaker (zojirushu) at a time. In my opinion, the toaster slots just aren’t that deep. If they were deeper by an extra inch then it would have been fine.

great for artisan bread
Good looking, space saving, good price, gives a great even toast! Only flaw is a little weak on the rise of the toast, but that isn't any reason to give it less than 5 stars. Oh, I would like a little chime to know it popped.

Modern Classic for Sure
The modern stylish design is worth three times the price alone. I replaced an old toaster that slowly dried the toast to death. This 1000 watt toaster browns outside crisp and leaves center of bread softer. Just the way I like it. I like very dark toast (some say burnt). First tried setting of 5 out of 6. Was just a bit lighter than I like. Set to 5.5 out of six and presto, perfection. The dial allows for micro setting not just 6 but anywhere in-between the numbers. What a great toaster. Thanks Salton for thinking outside the traditional looking machine.
