Used in every room of my 1835 house
In renovating my 1835 home, specifically restoring the original trim work, which was coated in multiple layers of lead based paint, I used this product. I would need between 3-4 applications, depending upon the number and composition of older paints used. Stripping paint is a messy, time consuming job, but SmartStrip allowed me to do it with a high degree of confidence in the safety of the job ( I still wore a mask with appropriately certified filters and had no exposed skin). I strongly recommend this project.

Good Enough.
i bought this to strip some well painted windows. its slow but it works, 5 layers of paint came off with about 12 hours of sitting. it didn't take off all the Black/brown wood stain that was on the wood, but it should be good enough to paint again. its pretty messy, so grab some paint thinner to deal with it after.

The best
I have tried other stripers and this stuff has been the best for the removal of deck over stain it takes 24 hours to work but makes the job a lot easier.

Attention ça pourrait rempirer votre projet
J'ai acheté ce produit la semaine dernière. Il a soulevé 4 couches sur 9 - SEULEMENT à certains endroits... ET Le résidu est caoutchouté, difficile à enlever, impossible à enlever sur les surfaces dénivelés ou inégales. Cela fait 25 ans que je fais des projets de décapage et c'est vraiment le pire produit - tout à fait déconseilé... Et oui j'ai suivi toutes les instructions et recommendations à la lettre. On a refait tout la job avec le décapant Saman!

Not very effective
We purchased a container to start the painful process of removing the paint from our deck. We recently moved into the house, but it looks like it was 2 coats of paint. We followed the instructions and left the stuff on for about 20 hours. We then used our pressure washer and scraper to try to remove the paint. Of the 70-80 sqft that we treated (which was almost the entire container), maybe 10% of it came up. I'm not sure what application this would work for, but it didn't work for us.

Works well.
This non-toxic stripper works every bit as well as the toxic ones. You need to leave it on longer than traditional toxic strippers, but its effectiveness and low odour is worth it.

Not worth the money or the effort
I had two coats of paint on the brick of my home. I applied a thick coat of the stripper to the brick, as laid out I the instructions and waited 24 hours. The following day I was excited to find the paint was bubbling. It looked like I was going to have an easy go of it.
The top layer came off amazingly, the gel kept everything together and was easily scrapped off with too much mess. Unfortunately, the layer of paint under the first coat remained on the brick, even with the use of a powerful power washer.
A couple days later I tried putting on a second treatment as I had some left overs.
This time I waited 48 hours, power washing had hardly any affect. I tried to use my wire brush wheel in my drill. I am having some success, however I must now go and buy another $100 1 gallon bucket to (hopefully) finish the job that was supposed to “remove up to 15 layers with one application” I can’t get 2 layers off with 2 applications, with a third pending. I guess paying big money doesn’t necessarily mean big results!
