The 8ah battery does send more power to the tool when using the Power Detect tools. You can hear the difference in the sound. The main disappointment is that after about 10 charges, the battery bars are not working, and bar #1 is dead. It seems the battery is not fully charging anymore. The other disappointment is that many retailers are selling DeWalt Tools and they are coming with batteries that are already over 3 years old.

When I hook it up - and yes, it clicks into place - it blinks as if it's charging and then gives me a solid red light as if it's done. But when I check the indicator, it only shows one bar and it won't work in my tools. Trying to contact customer service. Hopefully they take care of it.

It performed a little better than the 6Ah in some tools. Overall it is a great battery for daily use.
