Don't buy!!!
I am now on my second model of this frig. Our cabinets were built around this unit so I am stuck with something equivalent to this size. I discovered the death of the first frig when we returned from a trip to Disney.... lost everything!!! My current one started leaking out the front. Found the drain line was stopped up... fixed that. But now it fluctuates in temperature so much I am losing contents. I do not want to go back with the same brand. I know this is a whirlpool site but does anyone have a suggestion of a different brand? It is ridiculous to have to replace this unit every 4 years!!! Who can afford to do that?????

Fridge is junk
My problems began a year and a week after purchase, but less than a year from the time of possession (Deliver took two weeks). Doesn't matter, wasn't under warranty. Looks like Whirlpool nailed the warranty time frame. I unfortunately have a space where this fridge's dimensions were the only option that could fill it. The first repair ticket is under way, but based off of other reviewers, I'm not too confident. Oh, I complained to Whirlpool about the situation and to their credit, they are going to cover this initial repair. But given the number of complaints on this unit, I think a class-action suit is needed to get Whirlpool to acknowledge the defective product and recall it.

Shiny Piece of JUNK
I bought this Sidekick refrigerator and matching freezer for our new home on 04/2014. Place in to service on 09/2014. I am now in the midst of my 3rd service call(11/30/2015). Thank god I purchased the extended warranty through Whirlpool. But, that is proving to be junk as well.Factor in that the food loss coverage of $250 is over the life of the warranty, not per event. Each time I am without a refrigerator for 2 - 3 weeks while parts are ordered. I lose time at work to meet the service people. This is the most basic refrigerator there is. No features or bells and whistles and it won't cool. Not to mention we have cabinets built around this unit.Worst purchase ever.

Forth Fridge
I bought the whirlpool sidekicks all refrigerator and all-freezer pair in August of 2008. Since i'm on my third fridge which is now broken too. I will be buying my forth fridge since 2008. It just stops cooling after about two years (coolant leak which is not fixable). Same with all of them. The freezer has been great, however you have to keep getting the same fridge if you want it to match the freezer. Now I'm going to bite the bullet and switch brands and buy a new fridge and freezer. I will never buy whirlpool again.

don't buy any freezerless refrigerator
Our first freezerless frig was another brand and lasted for 20+ years. They're out of business. Bought this Whirlpool 7 years ago, worked OK for a year then nothing but trouble. Now no cooling at all and junked it. Went back to a regular frig. Don't think any manufacturer does a good job making this type of frig - they got popular and co's started offering them without working out all the bugs and maintenance issues. Beware of "high efficiency" units, our repair guy says that just means they put in smaller motors/compressors, which have to work harder, and wear out quicker.

Second SideKicks All- Refirgerator
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Only bought this unit because the original installed in Mar '15 completely quit after three years of service repairs and food spoilage. And since refrigerators are no longer standard industry sizes and we have the matching freezer unit built in, we didn't have another choice without major kitchen renovations. Somewhat disgusting that this unit which is currently being stored in our garage is going to end up in a landfill at four years old.

Only lasted 12 mos. + 1 week ~ BUYER BEWARE ~
We purchased this refrigerator a year ago. We were very excited to find one with no freezer, as we mostly eat veg and use it for juicing, so we need lots of fridge space. Well, I've heard stories about appliances giving out RIGHT AFTER the warranty is up, but it's never happened to me - Until now.
It totally stopped cooling basically overnight, 1 year and 1 week after we bought it. Yes, so you know what that means.. no coverage. My husband fought tooth and nail with them, since we were just barely past the warranty and finally they agreed (after literally DAYS of pleading and then angry calls) to fix it.
They sent someone out who quickly said he couldn't fix it, it would have to be replaced. Then they sent someone else out more than a week later (yes, that leaves us without the fridge) and he said he could fix it, but that he didn't have the time or parts. Why did they schedule him out without being prepared!? Then they said they had to order parts. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!??? Then they made a date to come fix it. Now they just called and said there's been a delay on parts and it will be another week before they can potentially get someone out to fix it.
I am going to play psychic here and say that this will probably continue indefinitely, as it seems they're toying with us at this point. They are rude, careless and unapologetic.
The fridge was fine, for a brief time. Lots of $$$ to waste for a fridge that only lasts a year. Aside from that, the steel on this unit is not like others, it's impossible to keep clean.
WE WILL NEVER EVER BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS AGAIN AS LONG AS WE LIVE. AMEN.

Whirlpool Sidekick Refrigerator
Units have major design flaws. Owned both refrigerator and freezer units for 12 years, had half a dozen service calls to keep these units running. Just spent $600 on a compressor replacement for the freezer, both units has had several valves and switches replaced along the way. Own a much older freezer in the basement, purchased in 1990 with zero calls to-date. When you own a side kick, every two years or so, you will need to remove the food, then remove the lower rear/back panel inside the unit and clean out the drain hole, below the evaporator coil (for both units). To do this, you will need a about foot of ¼ inch plastic tubing and stick it down the drain and use it to clean out the drain line. Then pour a small amount of hot water down the drain (ice will form in the drain). If you don’t do this, water will leak out you can damage flooring, form an iceberg in bottom, etc. Both units will suck up dust into the drain line and stop up. Like the others writing in this comment section, my kitchen was made for the units, I am sort of stuck with them.
