Perfect Addition for Recent Kitchen Remodel
My home is 30 years old and my cook top was the last kitchen appliance to replace. I originally had a Jenn Air 4 burner downdraft which was electric and decided to switch to gas instead. I love this cook top! I have had very little problem transitioning from electric to gas and I love every part of this cook top thus far. Plenty of burners, love that the downdraft has three different speeds to choose from and clean up has been a breeze. I had researched downdraft cook tops for quite a long time prior to the purchase and am very pleased that I chose this one! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Excellent Quality and Well Packaged
You don't have many choices these days on downdraft gas cooktops but I was still impressed with the build quality of the 36" Kitchenaid. All parts appear to be well made and now that I have it installed it works like a charm. Some reviews complain of the fan noise but I don't find it any worse than the Jennair it replaced. Some may question why my title included the "well packed" comment but I was very pleased with how well it was packed. The outer box was very well constructed and the inner packing and foam was heavy duty and well made as well. The Kitchenaid engineers spent some time making sure it was packed for individual shipment without damage.

multi burners each with progressive BTUs
If you must have a downdraft Cooktop this one was easy to install. My only issue was the gas line. The gas line came out of the wall 6" & butted up against vent body so I had to shorten the pipe and direct it away from the body. Measure before you start because you may have to have a pro move the gas line! The cooktop works very well, my wife truly loves it. The exhaust vent is very efficient as well. Use white vinegar on the stainless steel to keep it looking new. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Love My New Cooktop
I suffered with an electric cook top for years because I could never find a gas cook top that was big enough but didn't require a separate downdraft. But after deciding to change my counter tops to quartz, I began another hunt for a gas cook top that would fit in my island. I was so happy to see that Kitchenaid had come out with a gas cook top that had a fifth burner AND a builtin downdraft. I've been cooking on this cook top since October and I love it! It's very beautiful and wonderful to cook on. I love the various burner flame sizes and clean up is a snap. In fact, that's the best part of all. The clean up of splatter and grease is quick and easy. I highly recommend this product! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Has a high end look
I finally gave in and replaced my old cooktop. Since my old cooktop had a downdraft vent, my choices were more limited. This cooktop is really nice! The five burners is an upgrade for me from four. Even though the granite counter had to be cut slightly to accommodate the size, it was well worth it. The cooktop is very easy to clean. And the vent cavity is large enough to be able to easily clean. Another nice feature is the solid knobs which have a very high quality feel. The smallest burner has an interchangeable part to allow low heating of chocolate sauce dr similar ingredients which are easy to burn. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Kichenaid 36" Gas Cooktop w/downdraft
I searched for a cooktop with a built-in downdraft system for months. Of all the cooktops I reasearched this particular KitchenAid was declared the best by many industry experts. After installing it and using it for a month, I can affirm the claims. It's functional, extremely well designed and built, and most importantly the downdraft system is amazing. It pulls the steam vapor and odors out of the kitchen really well. I'm very pleased!!

Perfect Addition for Our Recent Kitchen Remodel
We are replacing the original cook top in our kitchen (which was a 4 burner electric Jenn Air) due to a recent kitchen renovation. Because of the reno, we selected this 5 burner downdraft which also meant changing from electric to gas as the original 4 burner was electric. We LOVE our new gas cook top. The downdraft has 3 speeds which is so nice having the selection of different speeds. There was very little transition from changing from electric to gas cooking. Cooking is fun again. Very happy with our purchase. Cleanup is easy and cook top works great. We did lots of research before making our selection and this is better than we anticipated. It's a win-win for us on this cooktop. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The unit works just as suggested, the 5th burner (oversized) is great for large pots and it's been used multiple times since our purchase. The only issue we have with the cooktop is the lack of a good solution for cleaning the surface. An SOS pad was needed to remove some stain from a burn (near the burner itself) so not really visible, however we are aware that this is not the recommended solution. We'll overflow a pot at some point and while we'll get after the cleaning process quickly I'm still anticipating some staining that we'll not be able to remove without a more stringent solution.
