Hello paul howard. Thank you for your question. I am unsure exactly what you are asking, however. Thank you for considering Husqvarna for your outdoor power equipment needs.

Boy! Did I make a mistake!
Bought the ST230P model last season but used it for less than an hour due to little snowfall. Took out of storage this season, started it and pulled the drive lever only to hear a crack. No drive. Looked under the top panel to find the plastic cable guides had broken. Contacted Husqvarna who were less than helpful. As the snow was about to arrive and knowing that it would not be fixed in time, I completed the repairs myself. After investing over $1,300.00 on this machine, I expected far better from Husqvarna. Now, I understand the drive belts are an issue also. Nice looking snow blower but trust me, don't waste your money on this overpriced, poor quality machine!

Throws it on the roof
It gets the job done faster than 42 inch wide lawn tractor thrower. I have used this on everything northwest Montana can dump on it. Even late season slush and hard packed burms. It also works for spreading out piles of yard clipping mulch in your garden. If the belts ever do burn up or fail it will be the result of operator error. Here is a hint. Snow is always changing. Trying to blast through tough snow like it's powder will cause problems with any kind of machine. The only thing I wish was different is the price. I wanted the tougher model with the hydrostatic trans but it's too expensive. They all are. Maintenance, good fuel, common sense, and you can't go wrong.

Built like a tank overshadowed by annoying flaws
I purchased mine in 2015 and so I have spent a good amount of time to write this review. Overall, it's an absolute beast and is capable of cutting through snow, ice, heavy slush, and everything in between. Tragically, the weakest link ends up certainly being its downfall and by that I mean the auger belt. I have to replace it 1-2 times a year (every year) due to the belt essentially melting and stretching to the point where it's just spinning in place. I am in the Chicago area and maybe use it 6-8 times a year. That's like changing the belt on it every 3-4 times I use it. In reading other reviewers, they also say the same thing.

Worked for a week.
Heated grips didn't work from day one. The chute had a mind of its own and would swing 45 degrees from play in the cables. Cable adjusters only hold for a couple of uses. After 5days the friction drive started to fail. Wheels just stopped moving after 5 mins of use. Took it back and almost got another one but another customer saw me looking at it and told me not to buy it because he bought the same one last year and it's been in the shop more than his house. I will say it blows snow like nobodies business. My neighbors watched with envy as I blew snow from my neighbors attached driveway over my property and into the other neighbors yard. Throws snow 40ft easy. It's a shame, this could be an awesome blower. Just too many problems.

Decent item particularly with electronic start, but . . .
I took over this snowblower from my son-in-law, who takes care of nothing! I like the electric start and appreciate the brake assist turning capability. Although belt replacement is never fun, this machine at least has a pivot breakdown. In many ways, I cannot grasp how engineers designed the choke, throttle, dual knob, configuration. It is NOT intuitive and it is in a very poor location. The bottom part of the knob adjusts engine speed by turning clockwise. And choke is in the "on" position when rotated all the way clockwise. Both should be mounted on the console. At the very least, the throttle should be mounted on the console!

Not a bad machine, but improvements are necessary
The skids are merely cheap synthetic material that will wear away quickly. Solution: buy custom steel skids from an online merchant.
Fuel Controls: Choke and throttle are concentric circles ON the engine. Thus, the operator must reach done with his/her left hand to operate. An improvement would be a throttle near to the control levers and leave the choke where it is. Chute handles easily and controls work as they should. Particularly helpful is the ability to break a single wheel to initiate a turn. I have replaced the auger belt a few time and that takes some time even with a hinged front stage.

Exceeded my expectations
This snow blower far exceeded my expectations! I've had or used numerous snow blowers (top brands# over the past 40 years and the Husqvarna really delivers. I've been in the market for a new one for several years so, I was familiar with the ratings and customer reviews. This machine out performed ANY unit I've used in the past and actually look forward to using it every time it snows. Unit starts on first pull everytime and I have yet to use the electric start. The unit runs true #straight) and the power steering is extremely helpful. During a recent heavy 12" wet snow fall, the unit never bogged down.
The only drawback is the reverse is VERY slow and the only con I've found so far.

This is what a snow blower should be...
I have lived in Northern Michigan nearly all my life and snow removal is an issue here from Nov to May. This unit throws some snow. When the chute is placed in the highest position it throws the snow nearly as high as a telephone pole. It works well in both light and heavy accumulations, 6" to 18" - is easy to handle but could be a little large for folks who are a little lighter in the saddle. It starts easy, runs smooth, and above all moves snow.
I would highly recommend this blower to anyone living in snow country.
