Hi - this is a follow up from about 9 months ago.  I was told ‘a little’ oil leakage is expected.  However, While storing my chainsaw ALL the bar oil leaked out.  is this normal or is it defective?  I can’t imagine draining oil after use is expected!

Hi - I purchased this chainsaw and when i store it, the chain oil leaks and pools below it.  Is there something I can do to stop this?  is the chainsaw defective?  I have used it less than 8 hours.  thanks

Posée par: RABCDN
Hello RABCDN. Thank you for your question. It is quite normal for a little bit of oil to seep from the saw when engine stops or when chainsaw is not in use. To prevent excessive seepage, empty the oil tank after each use, then run for one minute. When storing the unit for a long period of time (three months or longer), make sure the chain is lightly lubricated in order to prevent rust on the chain and bar sprocket. Thank you for choosing Husqvarna for your outdoor power equipment needs.

what size chain ? is it the little one or the bigger size?

Posée par: spaceball
Hello spaceball. Thanks for your question about the 445. The pitch of the chain is .325 and the gauge is 0.50. The number of drive links will depend on the length of the bar. A 16-in bar has 66 drive links and an 18-in bar will have 72. Thank you for choosing Husqvarna for your outdoor power equipment needs.

Scie à chaîne à essence 18", 2 cycles, 45,7 CC est évalué 3.9 de 5 de 36.
Rated 4 de 5 de par Good chainsaw for the price Had difficulty starting it. Took it to local service and learned to only place in choke position ( full up ) for two to four pulls, then place in start position, then it will start easily. Apparently, I was flooding it when I left it in full choke position. Instruction manual needs improvement, could be better organized; pictures are good , but need instructions along with the pictures. It is a nice chainsaw with plenty of power, runs smoothly, much better than those lower priced chainsaws. It is very easy to start now. I won't know for several years how durable it is. That also depends on the use and care.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Over Oiled Great Running saw. My 18 inch Husqvarna (46cc) easily out runs my Dad's 16 inch Stihl (45cc) in the same log. The biggest problem I have is the oiling system. Leaks all over the shop. Whenever I set it down it looks like a 1972 Pinto was parked there. Full tank of oil only lasts 3/4 of a tank of fuel. That means I have to stop before I need to "gas-up", or the bar runs dry. Great saw for storm clean-up, not so much for land owners. The 0.50 kerf is great for running larger bars on smaller/lighter saws but does wear quicker. However, at the end of the day, I'm happy with my Husqvarna.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Husqvarna 445,45.7-cc 2-Cycle 18-in Chainsaw I purchased this chainsaw last year and have use it many times without any problems. I've cut big trees and alot of yard cleanup after Hurricane Matthew. Easy to start and has plenty of power. I use the Husqvarna premix fuel that can be purchased at Lowe's. The chainsaw is not to heavy at 10.5 lbs. Iam 70 years old and can handle it without any problems!

Rated 2 de 5 de par Repaired too many times I purchased my saw just over a year ago. It's been to the repair shop twice already and it's back there again now because it has no spark. Considering I've only used it four times that means I've had to get it repaired almost as often as I've used it. I have only used it for light work such as trimming branches and things around the house. While I like the brand, this saw had been a lemon.

Rated 5 de 5 de par So far so good Instructions were a bit vague regarding what to do on initial start up. Sarting it up right out of the box I wanted to make sure that I didn't screw things up. Basically add gas with the right oil ratio (50:1) and make sure that there is always chain oil in the chain lubricating reservoir. I did find that it is easier to start if you give it a shot with the gas lever after following the cold or hot start up instructions. It delivers good power for it's weight and worked flawlessly. I've only used it a couple of times so will try to update in the future. P.S. Got 15% off when purchasing online so watch for the sales.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Most unreliable tool I've ever owned Are you mechanically inclined? Do you like taking things apart and fixing them? Do you enjoy solving mysteries such as what the small plastic shard coming from your chainsaw could be? Do you like buying replacement chains on a daily basis? If you answered yes to all of these questions, then this is the perfect saw for you. If on the other hand you would like to cut wood with your saw, then look elsewhere. This chainsaw is inferior in every way to the cheapie Poulan and John Deere saws I have owned. I thought I was upgrading by purchasing this model; I was sadly mistaken. I have run this saw for approximately 6 hours of total use (light duty cutting at best), and in that time I have had to disassemble the pull string mechanism to fix the cracked spool, replace the chain, and disassemble much of the saw twice just to get it working. This saw loves to throw chains right out of the box, and if the chain come off the bar for any reason you can rest assured you will making a trip to lowes to buy a replacement.

Rated 1 de 5 de par I have used this product for light trimming and for cutting logs up to 2 feet in diameter. After approximately 20 minutes of use, it overheats and cannot be restarted for a couple of hours. It does not always start easily. For the price, it is a BIG disappointment! I would only recommend this product for small wood trimming and for only 20 minutes at a time.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Sweet! I've had this product since December 2014, but with the recent windstorm here in Ohio, I fired it up for the first time yesterday. WOW! I had a bit of a problem getting it started, and then getting the chain moving once I got it fired up, but after getting it started and pulling the chain cover off and re-attaching it, it got going. Cut through a 6-in diameter branch like a hot knife through butter! Relatively lightweight and easy to handle. I cut a half-dozen pretty thick branches and some smaller trees and absolutely no problem. I have a lot of fallen wood to buck, and I'm sure this Husky will help me make short work of it. DO NOT spend good money on lesser products from Lowe's (you know what they are). I may have been able to get away with the 16" bar, but am glad I bought the 18".
