very poor quality
bought it in October, but put it in the remodeled house until January 2015, so far, we have used it for less than 3 months, but the frige temperature keep at 60F, could not go down, the freezer is -3F, no matter how we set up the temperature, the refrigerator just has its own idea of the temperature, we lost all our foods!
Called for the service, and was scheduled in more than one week! Please, GE people, what are you thinking about? Can you try to live your live without the refrigerator for a week?
I am totally disappointed, I tell myself, I will NEVER buy GE any more!

Noisiest refrigerator I've ever heard
If you like diesel engines, you'll love this fridge. It worked fine for about a month, then started making a super loud, high pitched whir every time it turned on that lasts for 10-15 minutes. Even after having an issue corrected because a part was installed incorrectly, the noise persisted and I was told that it "yeah, sounds loud", but that was "normal operation". I've lived with maybe 10 different fridges throughout the years at various rentals, and this being the first I've purchased, I can say I've never, ever heard a fridge make the noises this fridge makes. My friends and I even have a running joke now, "is it loud? or is it GE fridge loud?"

Great Fridge
After one year of ownership, I have no complaints about this fridge. It has been trouble free, looks great, and is surprisingly spacious for a counter depth unit. I had an older GE Profile counter depth at my previous house, and this one has a much better designed interior layout to maximize space. Controls are place in the door jamb, and the water filter is recessed so neither encroach on storage space. Great size for a couple or small family. It is also extremely quiet. I like that the freezer and refrigerator sections can operate independently-- saving energy and keeping more stable temp. Highly recommend.

Very happy!
We just purchased our GE Profile counter-depth after our 3 year old Samsung died (the refrigerant leaked out and it was unrepairable). By choosing a model without an external door dispenser, we gained a lot of interior space since the shelves are unobstructed by an ice/water unit or filters. We are also saving ourselves from the seemingly constant job of cleaning water drips from an external dispenser. The GE's bins are nice and deep, and it's very easy to access everything in the fridge. My only (minor) complaint is that the water dispenser inside the fridge is just a little awkward. The dispenser is a two-handed job -- you have to hold your glass with one hand and and push the water button with the other. Overall the fridge is nice and quiet and we are happy with our purchase.

GE Profile PWE23KSDSS Refrigerator
Bought product 3 months ago and have 2 issues with unit already.1-- Exterior of freezer door builds condensation . Serviceman called GE direct and was told to replace door. Not been completed yet. 2--Refrigerator quit maintaining a constant temperature. First froze all of my food. Next temperature went to 46 degrees. Whatever you set the temperature to, the refrigerator automatically determines that is the temperature. Serviceman looked at and determined these units were having software issues along with needs to replace fan unit (According to him this is an ongoing issue. Not sure why GE would ship this product out without making the required fixes first??? The second issue has not been repaired yet either!! Can't use the refrigerator!!!!

Unsatisfied and Unhappy
Three months old and they have been here to deliver three different doors. Original frig door was damaged and freezer drawer. Second door was also damaged out of the box. Freezer guide rail had to be replaced because the freezer drawer wouldn't close so freezer wouldn't stay cold and ran constantly. They had to come twice to remedy the guide rail. Wednesday the frig wouldn't cool. Read 66 degrees and stayed between 40 and 66. Thursday it remained in the 60's all day until someone could come Friday to repair. Temp is going down so it looks hopeful but we shall see.

If GE would only reduce the fan noise!
We bought 2 of these for our new house and although the design (for the most part) is great and the slate finish is beautiful, the fan noise is very annoying. GE should do better than this on a fridge for this amount of money. Don't buy unless you actually listen to one running or you will be disappointed. Also, the top drawer in the freezer pulls out with the rest of the freezer and makes a banging noise when you pull the freezer out. Top drawer should just be a manual pull out. I would only recommend this if I made sure I told them to beware of the noise. I am only stating "yes" I would recommend it because of the slate finish.

Meets Expectations
We bought this refrigerator to replace our old Electrolux model which was continually failing. Although the GE model does not have all the features our old frig did ( the shelves, for example, do not slide as smoothly given their construction), we believed it would be the Best Buy given what is available on the market today and the relatively small space we have for our unit. We also bought the refrigerator despite various reviews that said it was noisier than usual - a fact which has not proven to be the case with our appliance. Indeed, it is quieter than our old unit. It also keeps an even temperature and otherwise works as expected.
