Description

Rated 3 de 5 de par Lack of thought I have a 735 , and it has some problems. After about 25 hrs. of use I noticed my oak strips were veering to the right- from the left side. Come to find out, the feed table plate was peeling up in the corner. I tried everything to fix the problem, eventually I peeled it off and replaced it with a laminate- problem solved and no more scratches. Inside where the cogs and chain are, debris builds up and prevents you from raising and lowering height,( I have a dust collecter), so you have to remove the cover and vacuum it out.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Great Product - With a Quirk Bought this 4 months ago and wish I had bought it sooner. Great surface finish achieved in soft wood and hard woods. Easy to use, reliable and the surface finish you can achieve is amazing. I re-saw hard woods and this planer helps me to achieve a common final thickness for the re-sawn wood. My only issue the rollers reaction to the cold. is Dewalt needs to add a note to the instruction manual which explains when the feed rollers get cold, they will no longer grab the boards. I recently spend hours trying to determine what was wrong - finally did a web search and found the information on cold rollers. A small hear on them for a few minutes resolved the problem.

Rated 5 de 5 de par My new favourite tool. Debated spending the money for a few months and now I can't believe that I could have been planing with this thing all that time. It is a dream machine. I see zero snipe. How smooth it made some really old barn board? Incredible. It cuts through the wood like butter. Quality product that I would recommend to anyone and everyone. Stay clear of the wood chip exhaust; it really spits those things out with some force!

Rated 4 de 5 de par Excellent machine, throw away the original knives I would give this a solid 5 stars but the original knives that ship with this machine are poor at best. I am working on a rustic hickory project, very hard wood with lot’s of knots. The original knives lasted only about 12 board feet cutting ~ 1/32 in each pass to remove 3/16 from the rough sawn lumber before having to turn the knives to the other side. I replaced the original knives with some carbide tipped blades (about 150.00) and have plained over 150 board feet with no noticeable dulling (yet). After a few boards I still have to wipe off the in feed rollers of the dust to keep the boards feeding correctly. For the price and performance (after the blade replacement) you just can’t get much better. DeWalt should consider making the carbide tipped blades standard.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Outstanding Value I have been using this planer for the past 9 months. We have planed countless board feet of rough sawed oak that was not oven dried. Most boards were 11" wide and 6+ feet long. The blades cut cleanly, evenly across the width and have not dulled a significant amount or needed to be changed. The finished cuts are clean, smooth and beautiful. It handled oak just as well as poplar which is amazing. As long as the in-feed and out-feed tables are properly adjusted there was not a snipe problem. Adjustment is quick and easy. A great value for an economy planer and I would highly recommend it.

Rated 5 de 5 de par wow this planer is great. very very very accurate. ive had absolutely no problems from this machine. the blades are not worth buying from dewalt if your planning hard woods. i get around three boards to each side of blades planing OAK from 1 inch down to 3/4. carbides are the way to go. there are lots of cool features with the planer. excellent easy blade changing from the top.ive had no problems with the star head screws stripping out. and every screw on the machine is the same size star heads so you can use the tool for everything(couple phillips head screws also). this machine makes it easy to plan long boards by yourself with ease. great product but should have came with plate rollers at least. but still worth the money

Rated 1 de 5 de par Could not be more disappointed I do a lot of working using various hardwoods and this planer is not up for the job. If you want to burn 6 inches of every board due to end snipe this is the planer for you. It's typical to have 1/32" of snipe on both ends of the board. When face joining boards this leaves a pretty ugly joint. Plan on changing the blades about every 50 board feet as well. At least they made the blades easy to change. The dust collector fan assist is pretty awesome but beware if you don't have a dust collector. This thing blows chips 25 feet. I should have spent another 50% and got a planer worth having.

Rated 5 de 5 de par A monster If you are looking for a planer that will chew through the hardest barn lumber, then this is the machine you want. A friend of mine has another brand planer, that I won't mention, and he was totally surprised how this monster chewed through a 100 year old piece of oak barn lumber that he brought with him to see just what the machine was made of. The machine I purchased did not come with the extension tables which my friend told me I needed to reduce snipe, so far snipe has not been an issue. I have ordered the extension table anyway just to help support the material. I ran about three hundred feet of rough cut cedar through it on the finish speed and there is no reason to sand any of it, came out looking like a piece of glass. The stand is a must have, now on my "got to have" list. True it a little pricy but worth every penny.
