Could this work in conjunction with a 24v solar panel? i.e. when the sun is out, the valve is open, otherwise it's closed? What is the max wattage? 2?
It would not work with a 24V solar panel directly because the valve operates at 24V AC (alternating current) but a solar panel produces DC (direct current).

Replaced broken valve perfectly
This valve works great, 1/4 turn on the solenoid enables manual sprinkler zone turn on/off. Works great, solid product.

Simple install
Unit came with clear installation instructions. It was used to replace an older valve from another manufacturer that had worn out. It was almost an exact fit in the existing manifold and installed with no issues. It has been working fine for several weeks but only time will tell how durable it is. The valve I replaced lasted for about 4 years but there are many valves in our system that are 14 years old and still working. This is a relatively inexpensive valve and I am hoping for 5 years of service.

Entry Level Valve
Better than most other brands sold here. Seemed good for the price. The only negative thing for most valves like this is that it opens abruptly and hammers the system a little.

Updated the old stuff
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought this was going to be a very challenging day. However, this task was very easy to assemble and test. Wiring was a as easy as far as the color codes. How did up and running in no time. Picture below is the new upgrade versus the old.

Rainbird 1 inch valve
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well built, designed for years of service, I have had several of these in use for over 30 years and still working great. I really like the ones with its own regulator built in. Rainbird is high quality equipment, even the sprinkler heads last for years on end, meaning less returns to projects. I always winterize all of my systems for my customers and that helps with the longevity off their system. You just can’t beat rainbird parts.
