Great design and function
Works exactly as advertised! Makes it easier to pull off a single sheet, or I can pull off multiple sheets as needed.
The base is nice and heavy, so it's near impossible to knock over (unlike a simple wooden one), and the brushed metal finish on the top and bottom add a touch of elegance to our bathroom.
Would completely recommend this to anyone looking for a paper towel holder. We'll see how long it lasts (I have no questions about its longevity given its build quality), but I may never need to replace it! What I might do is buy another one to replace the simple wooden one we have in the kitchen...

So sad that it has started to fall apart.
Sadly, my paper towel holder has started to fall apart. The weighted bottom has separated from the top which makes the unit unstable. I had this same phenomenon happen with a floor lamp that was about the same age as this paper towel holder. I am debating whether to get the same holder since it worked great, until it didn't, or switch to a marble one that won't disintegrate....

Holder stays put
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a paper towel holder that would fall over or move every time I tried to get a paper towel. The Umbra holder stays in place. It has a rubber/foam bottom to it that keeps it from slipping around the counter. i can easily tear one piece from the roll without the whole thing falling over. The stand piece that holds the paper towels seems a little wobbly (is it supposed to be?). Other than that this thing is great!!

Base broke into pieces
Bought this because I liked the style. Been using about 2 years and the spindle started coming loose from the base. So I turned it to tighten it and the center of the base just crumbled. It appears to be made of a cheap type of cement used for weight which just broke all up making the holder useless. What a poor design for attaching the spindle to the base. Sure not worth the money I paid for this.

Easy to use!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very nice, heavy duty paper towel holder. I have had the same paper towel holder for about 10 years and have been very frustrated with it so I was very happy to have this new one. The first thing I loved about it is that you can fit any size paper towel roll on it. I really appreciated this because my old one would only accommodate a smaller or standard size roll. All you have to do to get the paper towel off with one hand is to give it a little tug and it comes right off easily. The only reason I gave it four stars rather than five stars is because, due to its design, when the paper towel roll gets to be about an 3/4 of the way done, when you tag on the paper towel it can sometimes get stuck and not break free from the roll. This is my only complaint, otherwise, I think this is a very nice paper towel holder and I am very happy with it.

Great design and quality!
We replaced an old wooden paper towel holder with this one, and it’s so much better! It stays put on the counter when you are ripping the paper towel, and it fits any size roll. Overall, a great product for the price.
