Love it and Hate it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this mower when it will run, hate it when it doesn't. Sadly, it doesn't run more than when it does. There's always something wrong with it, to keep me from using it. My wife told me I had a lemon, but refused to admit it. Now after having it worked on for the fourteenth time, I have finally agreed with my wife on something. This one is a LEMON. Bought new, about 24 months ago. Had to have the pistons overhauled twice, carb worked on three times, reverse gear stopped working and had to turn that in for repair, etc. I think I have spent more on repairs than I paid for the thing in the first place.

Happy Owner
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased a Cub XT1/LT42 with the leaf collection system. I have to say I love it! It has made my life so much easier in the fall. My only grip would be that at the point of purchase (on-line) I thought I was buying the entire leaf collection system, only to find out that trailer in the picture was not included. The salesmen did correct this before it was delivered but I wish it would have been a little clearer. It’s a fantastic machine and I hope to have for many years to come.

My XT1 engine DESTROYED after JUST 12 HOURS
My XT1 threw a rod and DESTROYED the engine after JUST 12 HOURS of use. Cub Cadet says there's no replacement engine available. Now they will not respond to my Cub Cadet authorized repair shop who's trying to repair the engine. Think about that before spending money on this mower.

Fantastic features!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best riding mower I’ve ever owned! Starts easy, powerful, climbs hills like a mountain goat, turns on a dime! The electric PTO works great, I really like the way it automatically disengages when you go into reverse. Love the hydrostatic transmission and ease of use. Very comfortable to ride on, it makes mowing enjoyable! Easy clean up with the quick attach water ports.I clear 2 miles of trails over all kind of terrain and it cuts through all types of weeds withe ease.

Nice Mower But.........
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this mower a couple of years ago from a local box store. It has never failed to start, I haven't even had to replace a battery, it has run really well. I did an oil/mower blade change at 50hrs with the cub cadet kit, 15 hrs later (65 or so total) my engine suddenly started knocking a couple minutes after start. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION to the oil filter in the kits, apparently when you turn all the way to the right the steering linkage can make contact with the oil filter and inadvertently loosen it causing engine oil starvation and you to go out and buy a new mower. Seems like a pretty poor design. Really a shame because I enjoyed the mower.

Exactly what I wanted
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I spent a lot of time researching riding lawn mowers because I knew I would eventually need to purchase one. I am crippled and disabled but still need and want to care for my yard and garden. I settled on Cub Cadet for a lot of reasons, the exact engine that was rated most reliable, the tight turning, the ability to have blades to mulch, the ability to go in reverse and still have the mowers blades engaged, several things. I went ahead and got it now rather than later due to the inflation Joe Bidens' administration caused and how much I was watching the prices sky rocket. I have had my Cub Cadet for three weeks so far and I could not be any more pleased and happy with it.

Don't
I bought this mower and used it for a few mows before the end of the season. I managed to get a few mows in last year before I had to get it serviced. I had the extended warranty but of course it didn't cover "this". Apparently, the belt that controls the blades falls off if you even look at it the wrong way. There was a twig or a piece of mulch that kicked it off. I mulch my gardens and yes, sometimes a piece of mulch gets in the yard. I just mowed my yard for the third time this season and the belt came off again. It's only a half and acre and fairly flat so it's not a particularly tough mow. I read the reviews and looked at the ratings before I bought the mower and this was supposed to be a great mower. I am disgusted. So the bottom line is: Don't buy this mower unless you have perfect grass and nothing else in you yard.
