Nice looking but TERRIBLE CUT ( UPDATE )
I was very disappointed with the cutting of my mower. A Craftsman representative reached out to me to fix my issues. I took my mower in to a Craftsman approved service center. They were able to make adjustments to my mower, replaced a belt , and actually took the time to talk to me and suggest areas I was making errors in the use of the mower. After the adjustments they made and using the suggestions they made I am happy to report my mower cuts like a dream. I wanted to post an update to claim some of the responsibility for the mower not cutting well and to say that this is a good mower and has a lot of pluses over a bigger mower.

Another Craftsman winner
This Craftsman mows like a dream. Twelve years ago I purchased my first Craftsman mower. It performed beautifully. I sold it because I believed it was time to, not because I had to. The 36-inch mower is an improvement on the 42-inch mower in that the 36-inch mower turns much more easily and is lighter in weight. It mows the lawn flawlessly. I purchased the bagger. Please read my review of the bagger attachment. I am 5'9" and had to adjust the seat back as far as I could so that my knees would not hit the dashboard. I am happy with the adjustment. I recommend the mower and the bagger.

Dead battery, very wide turn radius
My mower was delivered with a dead battery. That was my first disappointment. Then I discovered you can not back up from a tight area with the blade engaged. I've never owned a riding mower, but this is a major inconvenience. You have to disengage the blade, back up, move to the new place you want to mow, reengage the blade, go forward, repeat. It's a pain. The turn radius is such that I have to make circles in my lawn. Squares won't work, lines are impossible. Corners have to be round. It mows. It's got a nice wide mow section. I wouldn't buy it to hire yourself out to people, though. You are going to be doing a lot of trimming missed spots afterwards.

I tried!
So I bought this mower 3 years ago and I really wanted to love it. I couldn't afford the more expensive mowers, but growing up Craftsman was always a reputable brand. When first using the mower, I noticed it vibrated much more than any mower that I've ever used. I overlooked that and then it has never efficiently cut the grass. I have to make multiple passes over the same area to get all of the grass cut. I've had the blades sharpened and balanced, thinking maybe they were out of wack from the factory. Nothing has fixed any of the issues. I will never purchase another riding mower that is made by Craftsman.

THIS IS A COOL LITTLE LAWN MOWER !
I LOVE THIS LITTLE MOWER. IT FITS IN MY GARAGE JUST GREAT. PLUS, IT DOES NOT HAVE THAT SIDE SHOOT STICKING OUT AND GETTING IN THE WAY WHEN WALKING AROUND THE MOWER PARKED IN MY GARAGE. THIS MOWER IS FAST AND NIMBLE. IT'S FUN, DRIVES LIKE A GO-KART, TURNS ON A DIME! IT IS VERY BASIC AND SIMPLE IN DESIGN. IT'S EASY TO WORK ON, AND EASY TO FIGURE OUT. THE TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH ARE VERY STRONG. THE ENGINE IS BASIC, AND MUCH STRONGER THAT I EXPECTED. IT DOES NOT HAVE AN OIL FILTER, SO NO NEED TO MESS AROUND WITH AN OIL FILTER MAKING OIL CHANGING THAT MUCH EASIER. EVERY MOWER I EVER HAD, THE ENGINE BY FAR OUT LASTED THE MOWER. I JUST USED 93 OCTANE GAS WITH FUEL STABILIZER, AND SYNTHETIC OIL AFTER THE BREAK IN PERIOD. THIS IS A COOL LITTLE MOWER!

Works for me!
I was skeptical at first since I have less than an acre to mow, but my wife insisted getting it for me for my birthday. I had never used one before and my first cut wasn’t bad. I practiced in the backyard first then moved to the front. The second cut was better. I also bought the bagger attachment. Assembly wasn’t too difficult and it works pretty good, just adds more overall length, so I would not recommend this attachment if you really don’t need it. The mower itself is great, easy to learn and use. Also remember to measure your access gate if you have one before you make the purchase. I did and this one easily fits through a 48” wide gate without the bagger chute attached. But it will squeeze through the other side at 49.5”, but it’s super close.

Perfect for the price
Let’s face it, this is on the lowest end of the price range for riders so don’t expect every bell and whistle. Received last week and thrilled after two cuts. Assembly was a breeze...took about 10 minutes to align the steering wheel, bolt on the seat, and connect the battery. All described features work as planned and I got great first cuts. My previous rider was a 30” single blade model and this is provides a far superior cut with the double blade. Power was fine but my yard is only 0.4 acres and flat. Fits easily through my fence gates and small storage footprint in my garage. “Hood“ latch could be better but for my flat and level yard it isn’t an issue. Going to buy a core aerator next to use with this. Happy thus far.

Worst mower I've ever owned
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I have owned this mower for 6 months. My battery has been replaced, both rear tires have went flat, excessive vibration after 4th use, the blades were easily chiped and bent. When attempting to replace the blades the nuts were torqued down so tight that I broke an adjustable wrench and a ratchet trying to remove them and then I gave up entirely on trying to remove it. I am a mechanic by trade... Additionally it is not a rough terrain that I am mowing on just a typical flat yard. I have never been this disappointed by a purchase on anything else in my entire life. I have attempted to contact craftsman regarding my warranty and everything that has broken so far has not been included in the warrenty.
