Is this Router a soft start?
To quote from Bosch " This kit features the exclusive quick-clamp system, allowing tool-free movement of motor from base to base. Other key features include variable speed, soft-start, and Constant Response™ circuitry that maintains speed under load."

Quality router with a few minor flaws
Solidly built, variable speed, the quality is very good. Height adjustment is smooth and easy to use. Only little things: the base does not support PC templets without some kind of adapter. Tried to deal with this by putting on a third-party base I had, which worked, but the 4 screw holes on the unit were nonstandard so even though the aftermarket base had a lot of holes, I could only get two screws in. There's no button to stop the shaft from turning - they give you two wrenches instead. They give you a key to adjust router height from above the table, but it only fits in Bosch router tables. Love the wood handles. Case is nice too.

Great Router
This router performs beautifully, especially when mated with the Bosch RA1171 router table. I have used this combination to build a deluxe redwood potting shed (all wood construction...no nails, no screws, no metal hardware) for my wife, and it definitely made the whole project much more professional looking. Cutting rabbets, dados, roundovers and more is a joy. I mounted the router and table to the top of a Waterloo SP-PC3BK 3-Drawer Project Center, making it portable...with storage!
I highly recommend this router.

Lasted longer than Porter Cable
I use this router on mostly hard woods with industrial router bits larger than 2 1/4 inch. With the correct router bits it achieves a clean edge effortlessly. To the person who posted the height adjustment is to the rear of the router, you can rotate the router so the hole in the top of the router labeled depth adjustment matches the rod attached to the depth control. This is a very thought out product if matched with the Bosch Table. It just fits in both ways. The router itself has a key to the Depth adjuster so you can adjust the height on the table top instead of messing around under the table. This is the best tool if bought with the Bosch router table you can purchase from a box retail store unless you build your own. Unfortunately Bosch router bits are not so good.

Don't look anywhere else !!!!!!!!
I do a lot of trim and finish work and did my research on many routers on the market, hands down bosch makes the best router there is. period. The micro adjust is just that, minimal increments are a breeze when it is used under my homemade router table (RA1250 mounting plate) . The plunge is base is effortless and the adjustments are simple. Soft start is a bonus, no violent jerks. If you want clean, smooth cuts from a router that blows away other brands...... ( read the title !!! )

Perfect and exstremly durable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I mounted this in the Bosch Router Table. The variable speed adjustment and ESV make this a dream to route clean smooth designs into soft and very hard tropical hardwoods.
I’m restoring a large farm house built in 1904 with a 60,000 sq ft dairy barn. Both have been let go badly over the last 5 decades and many thousands of board feed will pass through this set up. I built extended sides with plywood so I can tongue in groove all of the siding for both buildings and all of the in house molding etc. this is a professional grade work horse that performs alongside my 3-1/2hp professional Porter Cable and am not afraid to work it all day everyday.

Great Product
Purchased online delivered to my door in three days. Great router also purchased a Bosch router table form the local Lowes. This makes the second Bosch Router / Router Table Combo I own. They work well in the wood working shop never had any issues. This Set up is compact but has the Power to handle big task when needed.Saves room does not take up a lot of floor space in the shop. The soft start, variable speed and above the table adjustments are just a few of the helpful feathers.

It’s Bosch
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m without a doubt a Bosch fan. I’ve always seemed to purchase the yellow tools, but they’re no longer made the way they used to be. When it’s time to replace/buy new now I only buy Bosch. Quality, Reliability, Performance etc are every bit of what you’d hope for. My yellow router died and I replaced it with the Bosch. Hands down a superior router to my previous yellow one. At 2.25 hp it has all the power I need and performs flawlessly. If you’re looking for a router this kit should be your choice.

Excellent choice
After years of using an underpowered router marketed to the home user, I stepped up to this professional quality tool. I was not disappointed. It cuts through hardwood like it was butter. The softstart and electronic control circuitry make it easy to control, and the two bases let me put the fixed base in my router table and use the plunge base for hand work. The only thing I would have added was a spindle lock so bits could be changed with one wrench.
I have several other Bosch tools and they are all of high quality.
