Do all the brackets and extras you need to install this come with it, or do I need to buy other things too?
This particular product is only the shelf—brackets and so on must be bought separately. Closetmaid does have some kits, and those come with everything you need.

What is the weight capacity?
The weight capacity if installed correctly is approx. 150lbs total weight (spread out over the length of the shelf.

can I use this as a drying rack - will it rust over time ?
The wire shelf is covered with a vinyl cover to prevent water/moisture from affecting the wire shelf.
Any exposed metal would rust

Easy to install.
I installed this in my bathroom closet, I didn't however use the recommended brackets though. Instead I used 1x3 furring strips along the outer edges which has worked very well. I figured since it was going into a4'x4' space and that it would be holding mostly towels and linens the bracing wouldn't really be needed. Of course if it all winds up on the floor I'll update this then lol..

Made into a shoe rack
Cannot say much.. My wife complained of her old shoe rack. Shoes kept falling out.. I bought the 16 x 48" and installed it in about 1/2 hour.. Shoe boxes on floor, shoes 2 pairs deep and bunches all over the shelves.. Lots of shoes, no problem. Except she wants me to do it in my half of the closet....

upgrade a closet
These shelves were added to compliment my current closet space -
one more side of shelving has wiped out wasted space.
The quality is better than any, in terms of existing systems used.

Closet Maid 16 inch deep white shelf
