Is there any edge trim I should buy with this?
We didn't but I think you do need it. It doesn't look finished we should have inquired before putting it up. We just put a bead of silicone it looks OK but must be something better that a person can get 4 it . I hope this helps you out,

Is it paintable? Want to use as backslash in kitchen but paint specific colour
Not easily, no. I mean... ANYTHING is paintable I guess... but realistically, the surface is melamine, which is designed to be smooth, glossy, stain resistant, and waterproof. All those characteristics will make it really not like to hold paint - so I my opinion, I would certainly not try to paint it. :)

Can this be used for the walls above a bathtub?
Yes, providing you install it carefully. We have a tub surround made of tileboard which is attractive and functional, and was just a fraction of the cost of anything looking this good. BUT, it's important to know that only the front surface of the board repels water, so you absolutely have to seal all edges and cut line with lots of properly applied caulking. Also, if the surface becomes scratched or chipped at any point, water will get in and that'll swell and ruin the backing board. So, again, it's essential to caulk carefully and completely around all edges.
So, for me - I put a bead of caulk all around the tub ledge BEFORE placing the board in place, so that the bottom edge of the board is sitting in caulk. So, the bottom edge isn't just sitting on the tub ledge, and then just caulked in front of it... but rather sitting in a line of caulk, so that caulk is behind, below, and in front of the lower edge - entirely encasing the bottom edge of the Tileboard. Likewise, the corners and the top edge and the front edge had caulk applied before applying the board so that the caulking is all around the edges of all sheets of the Tileboard. Installed that way, we have a beautiful tub surround for a decade.
BUT, if you let water get at the back or edges of it, it'll be ruined in no time. :)

What are the demensions of this wall board? Can you put it up in a shower?
4x8 (it's in the discription). I did in mine, so far so good. Used plastic edging to help protect / better seal the ends and lots of silicon.

Is it waterproof
The front tile surface has a melamine finish so it is water resistant, the back and side edge surfaces are not, so proper installation is critical. The factory edge surfaces need to be caulked carefully so no water can permeate them. When cutting the panel, the cut edges should be sealed and caulked as well. Not a great product for showers or tubs but if installed properly and maintained it will last.

Nice looking, difficult to cut
Don't get this for a bathroom, go get the PVC/plastic version instead. The white tile face rips off when you cut it (can't get a clean line) and looks bad once on the wall. I had to paint edges to make it look better. Otherwise it's a good product just not for a bathroom as I used it or maybe if used in whole sheets uncut. good for a kitchen or laundry room though.

Only recommended as an intermediate solution
The panel board can look good if you do it right. HOWEVER, it is extremely easy to scratch and get "pin holes". These tiny, near impossible to find holes will allow moisture past the barrier which will create water stains on your boards surrounding that hole.
BUT for an intermediate fix while saving up to do a bathroom renovation, it is a cheap and crisp looking solution. We had an ugly one installed when we first bought our home and we ended up keeping it up for a few years prior to us replacing it.

Easy to Scratch
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product was ordered online for an in store pickup. The pieces were picked up from someone who didn’t look them over, and covered in thick dust.
Once we cleaned the surface we discovered they were heavily scratched.

Horrible
Don't bother trying to make this stuff look good. We used it to surround a shower stall. We taped it to cut to size and the tape removed the water resistance and the colour. It gets scratches and dings very easily.
The price in astronomical for the quality of the product.
