What does the term "clumping" mean in your overview of the growth pattern of grass?
Grasses that are described as clumping grow in bunches to provide an even turf, rather than growing and spreading below ground.

Amazing results every year!
This product works very very well, however, YOU MUST BE PATIENT. I have 2 large breed dogs that destroy my lawn every year (urine, digging, running, etc...). I have used this product for many years and it always delivers! Do not believe the negative reviews. The negative reviews mention not seeing much new grass within a few weeks. Again, be patient and you will see. Based on my experience with this product, it takes roughly 6 weeks to have nice new full grass. If you would like perfect full grass in 2 weeks, then I suggest you spend big bucks and install turf. I will be purchasing this product once again this year!

Tried them all!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As the title says I have tried all of the different patch type grass seeds. With the others I get sporadic patches of grass that typically take awhile to sprout. EZ Seed is just that easy! Ready the soil, pour the seed, water and magic the grass grows. My yard is semi shade and that doesn't seem to matter for EZ Seed. It may cost a bit more but it works so it is worth it. I won't use anything else and have recommended it to family and friends as well as strangers at the garden store!

Scotts works the best in our yard
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have always had trouble trying to grow grass in our yard. Scotts EZ Seed has been the exception, and has worked the best of any and all that we have tried. Thickest, fullest and keeps coming back. Thanks, and well done once again.

More than 14 days later, only a few single sprouts
I mowed the lawn to 2", dethatched the areas down to bare earth, tilled the soil, put down a thin layer of fresh topsoil, applied the EZ Seed as per the directions on the bag, gave it a good initial watering, and then watered it with a timed sprinkler every morning at 6am and every evening at 6pm for 15 minutes each time. I'm confident that I was more thorough in my application of this seed than most people would be.
However, more than 2 weeks later, I can count the individual sprouts found across my entire lawn using my 10 fingers. The rest of my lawn has grown to 6" - 8" in that time. I don't expect these tiny individual sprouts to spread and thicken up over time. Considering the price compared to regular grass seed, I expected much better results. Nearly $100 in grass seed, not considering my time and increased water usage, with essentially no difference. I am reaching out to Scotts for a refund.

Grows great, but doesn’t live through the winter..
For the last three years I have been using this EZ seed to fill the patches on front my lawn and seeded half my backyard with it. After three winters I have discovered that the roots don’t take as it will literally grow on cement but doesn’t put proper roots down that will last the winter. I seeded late spring and within a month I had beautiful green grass. But did notice it didn’t seem durable to foot of dog traffic. But, after three winters, every single spring, the only areas I needed to reseed was the spots I used EZ seed. The rest I had put sod down and it came back every year. If you want to reseed your lawn every single year, go ahead and use this product. If you want good quality grass that will last through a winter don’t bother. While it grows fast, it’s not worth it. Use real grass seed or sod. And yes, I prepped the ground properly before using EZ seed. Quite literally to a T. So that’s not the issue. This past winter I even insulated my lawn with hay trying to keep it alive as I was already suspicious of the EZ seed. Sorry this is long but the truth needs to be known. This stuff might work in warm climates but it’s not resilient enough for most of Canada.

I bought this grass seed fertilizer and What is growing is very patchy, I did it in my front and back lawn. This product is not doing what they claim. I still don't have a good patch of grass anywhere, after using 3 bags in a small area.

I bought 2 bags at the beginning of the spring, and made several attempts, following the instructions to the dot. Zero growing.
Very disappointing. I'm going to return 1 bag

Bad Seeds
I bought the seed a week ago, spread it on the plain lawn soil, not a piece of grass grow. Not as company claimed "Grows anywhere".
