This tool is great
After years of struggling with a lower quality jigsaw, we finally broke down and purchased this one. Why we waited so long and fought with the other one, I don't know. The ease of use and quality of the cut is amazing. It's a time saver for sure. So far we've only used it on pressure-treated lumber and it works great. It's comfortable and handles well for both my husband and me. I've had limited experience with jigsaws in general and so far I've been able to make cuts that are good the first time. Don't fight with those bad quality tools. The difference in price between the best and mediocre is not that much. Our time and energy are too valuable!

Lacks precise blade control
I purchased this model and tried it for 30 days and have returned it. I am an avid home woodworker and have used several jigsaws. While this Bosch runs nicely and smoothly, it doesn't cut square to the board. The problem is with the slot on the roller that is supposed to hold the blade in place, as the slot is too wide for normal blades including the new Bosch blades I was using. The wide slot allows the blade to move significantly. I called Bosch customer service about this and they acknowledged this issue and suggest I try their highest model saw which costs $250 or more! Forget that. Even the next model up from this saw still has the same wide roller slot. Until Bosch fixes this issue I cannot recommend this saw.

Great jigsaw
To start I'm not a professional at wood working, and had wrote jigsaws off years ago due to experiences working with inferior jigsaws that gave me a very bad impression of them all together. I have recently had several projects that required a saw of this type so after lots of research I went with the Bosch. I have to say it's very easy to maintain and a dream to use. No comparison to the older saws I had before. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the absolute top of the line models but does more then a novice such as myself needs, and does it very well. I would recommend this to a friend.

This 6.5 amp jig saw does the trick. Super smooth to operate and control. Cuts like butter with 10 tpi blade with minimal blade flex. Very smooth cut with this blade. The only thing that would be helpful is a light to make it easier to see the cutting line. The built in blower keeps the cutting path clear.

My first REAL jigsaw
I have had two $30 jigsaw in the past and formed a terrible opinion of jigsaws in general. Mainly that jigsaws were inaccurate and difficult to cut straight. A coworker suggested I try a better jigsaw. I am so glad I took him up on the advice. Straight cuts, scroll cuts, whatever cuts I need, now I have confidence in going to a jigsaw. No more need to drag out the table saw or circular saw for some of my cuts. Great buy!

Just what I wanted
I haven't owned a new jig saw since I bought my last one some 20 years ago. This one, although not rated as one the pro's might want, was just what I wanted. The improvements made over time and the excellence of the product line itself made this a really nice machine. Time will tell of course, but so far I really appreciate the way this saw handles. It almost makes my band saw obsolete.

Great jigsaw
My B&D jigsaw finally wore out. I own several Bosch tools and when I needed a replacement I decided on the Bosch jigsaw. It is a great improvement over my old jigsaw. The blade is easier to change, no tools required, there are variable speeds depending on what material and what blade you are using, This tool is a huge improvement over my old jigsaw in that there is considerably less vibration. A great tool.I'm happy I bought this.

Cuts like BUTTER!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I make yard art and other wood projects and we had an old jigsaw that we hated using. We bought this Bosch for the price and the features. It is night and day compared to our old jigsaw! Easy to change the speed without worry of messing it up since its not on the trigger. Easy to change the blade even with gloves on. Glides easily with the non-marring plate. We have told everyone we know how good this jigsaw is.
