Excellent Saw!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this saw in January after spending many months researching miter saws. It was my first time purchasing a miter saw, and as a homeowner and DIYer, I knew that I wanted a high quality saw that would last many years, but didn’t need every upgrade available. This saw has delivered on every front! It was easy to set up, the blade was perfectly square right out of the box, and makes consistent, accurate cuts every time. I’ve used it to make a variety of cuts on a number of projects and have been very happy with it every time. If you’re looking for a great value that doesn’t compromise on quality, this is the saw for you!

Perfect for the DIYer with limited storage space!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have needed a quality compound miter saw capable of handling small to medium cuts for a long time. Performing these cuts with a table saw or hand held circular saw with jigs is possible in many cases, but the set up time, adjustability, and accuracy can vary greatly.
This saw is light and small enough to carry to my work area from storage in the basement.
With a 12 inch blade, it is capable of handling 95% of the stock I might ever need to miter cut.
It sets up easily and can be clamped to my Workmate portable bench.
With an upgraded 80-tooth blade (it comes with a general purpose 40-tooth blade), it makes clean, accurate, and repeatable cuts!
Has Dewalt quality and reliability.

Works great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It fits my needs. The 12" allows me to cut the 2x6 angles. Not too heavy that I can pull it out and store it for quick projects. It has more power than the 10" (different brand) I used before. Witch is nice, however it does "kick" when you start the blade. Doesn't bother me now that I'm used to it but if you're not comfortable with saws you'll want to have it ask the way up before turning it on.

Excellent so far!
I was looking for the DeWalt 10” saw, but it was out of stock. The 12” was on sale for price of the 10” so I picked it up. Super easy to unpack and set up. Clear safety and operating constructions. Smooth on/off delivery through switch. Fast spin-down when powered off. Easy and precise to set miter angles
My only quibble is that the clamp (included with saw) cannot be used on right side — the housing has slots to receive it, but clamp interferes with movement of saw
The Lowe’s team mate on the floor was extremely helpful regarding both saw and saw blades. Shout-out to Russ, thanks!

Excellent Saw
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This saw is great for finish work. The miter cuts are accurate. It comes with a 32-tooth framing blade, but I installed an 80-tooth Diablo blade, which makes perfect clean cuts. For a homeowner or professional woodworker, I would definitely recommend this saw. I compared it to sliding miter saws, but the 12" blade makes a slide unnecessary for most tasks, as it will cut a 2x8 at 90° and a 2x6 at 45°.

Industry standard
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I asked my father which one I should buy (he's a contractor) and he called this one the industry standard. I'm cutting flooring and trim boards and so far I have no reason to doubt his assessment.

Misleading Specs
Rating this saw low for two critical misleading specs and one is a safety issue.
1. Although you can cut 5.5" material, you cannot cut when turning to the right else the material will hit the motor housing.
2. Safety issue: When cutting material that is about 5" vertically, you have to retract the blade guard manually, else it will hot the material. This is yet another step while cutting which is a safety hazard. While retracting the saw blade, you cannot let go else will impact the cut so you have to press down and feel that the guard to catch up to the cut and then you can let go of the guard.
3. Forget about stopping a cut mid way through a cut because the kickback on the motor dips the cut down like half inch.
I was not impressed even for sale price.
