Description

Rated 5 de 5 de par HOW TO - TO DO - TO NOT REDO! -TUTORIAL- Problem = So I initially had issues with my resin not curing, hardening and or staying tacky long after using it according to directions on can. there is a fix to this.. read on. The Solution = I used a plastic mixing cup (used to mix paints), a wooden stir stick, a 2" brush, lacquer (for cleanup), and paper towels. ----my temperature was at 65 degrees and I mixed 4 oz. at a time about 3 times. mix 10 drops of hardener for 1 (oz.) ounce of fiberglass resin. stir for 30 seconds in all directions and scrape the edge of the cup. let it sit for 1 min. while you get your parts ready. stir for another 15 seconds, 2 components (resin and oxidizer are activating, give it time) use your brush to apply your resin. apply within 8 min. -cleanup with lacquer my recommendation to 3m - use a dye in the hardener that changes the color of the resin when combined. (mixing 2 clear liquids is difficult) -I was missing one hardener when i bought my resin, please make a security seal on white plastic lid to know if someone tampered with it. -keep making great products!

Rated 1 de 5 de par Terrible product I purchased Bondo fiberglass resin stage two on Saturday afternoon. Came with the liquid Hardner. Came home and once again wiped down the area that I had spent the morning sanding and preparing to fiberglass on the saddle bag of my Harley Davidson. Since it was now wiped down and ready to go, I mixed up the recommended parts 10 drops of Hardner with the recommended resin. Stirred it and applied it to the cloth that I had cut out and fit to the area. Went to church and dinner Saturday night. Came home about 9:30 and it still had not dried. Sunday morning got up still tacky and just as wet as it was when I started. Not only that it has run down the side of my saddle bag and ruined the paint on my saddle bag. Thought it was a Hardner so I ran to AutoZone and got another thing of Hardner for another nine dollars. Mixed up another batch. Only to find out I have the exact same thing it is now Tuesday and apply this on Saturday and Sunday. Still not dry and it’s totally ruined the paint on the saddle bag.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Wouldnt harden. Only way to get it to harden is to add double the drops per ounce. Trying to get answers from the company is a joke too.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Easy and pretty forgiving I fixed some damaged items in my backyard. I followed the instructions pretty loosely, and the Bondo polyester resin hardened up perfectly and cured within 2 hours. My fiberglass repairs are super strong. Now I'll fair them out a bit with the Bondo putty after sanding, and then paint. Pretty easy. Normally I use epoxy to repair stuff, but I needed the strength and rigidity of fiberglass, so I went this route as an easy introduction to fiberglass. Pretty cool stuff.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Pond waterfall I bought Bondo to make a 6 inch 10 inch catch basin for a diy pond waterfall. I used cardboard as the form and all went perfectly. Preparation is the key to get it done well and the product you use is paramount. This product worked perfectly. The waterfall runs 24/7 yet has no leaks. I have another waterfall project pending and will be using Bondo again.
