What size board will this take?

Posée par: STRMCHSR
6" thick. I figures someone should answer your question since lowes depends on the manufacturer and customers and doesn't even try to answer. 6 months is not acceptable.

Raboteuse stationnaire Craftsman de 15 A est évalué 3.9 de 5 de 62.
Rated 4 de 5 de par More Than Decent For The Price [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a pretty good planer for the price. Initial setup took only a few minutes and is pretty straight forward. My first test runs of stock was putting about 2in of snipe at about 1/16th deep on both ends but after fine tuning the tables it's become negligible. Also there is quite bit of slop in the cut height adjustment so make sure that you always crank past your measurement by a 1/2 turn and the back it up to your desired height. The only thing I don't like about it so far is that there doesn't seem to be any adjustment for the rollers (nothing listed in the manual).

Rated 1 de 5 de par Stopped working completely on 2nd use Very disappointed. Purchased 4 days ago. Just a DIY guy and reviews weren’t bad, so I went for it. Was so excited cause this was my first planer but the excitement was short lived. As an initial test, I ran about 4 quarter-inch soft pine boards that I had already ripped on my table saw, and results were great. Then came today, second use, running some 2x4 pines and it went to a complete stop, never to turn on again. Luckily I kept the box and everything intact. I just returned it for a refund. I thought about exchanging for the same one, in case this was a one-off, but decided I will go for a better brand after I get my refund.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Works great I had been in the market for a planer for a long time but finally made the decision to go with this craftman one. One of the main reasons was the price and it seems a lot of other reviews agreed that this was actually a pretty good tool. After trying it a few times I will also have to agree. This thin works. The only thing I'm having an issue with is with planer snipe. One way I found is to use wood a few inches longer than I need to and its good. I tried adjusting both folding tables but I couldn't get it dialed in. Overall it has done what is supposed to.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Does a good job I have run 600 LF already 10ftx10” wide pine. Never got hot, never jammed from shavings, it has a blower to help. The feed rollers work great if your wood is clean, without sap and mold like mine had, but I just pushed it through to help. Tip, during setup I had to level the infeed and outfeed tables since they were not perfectly flat to the planner bed. Knives still sharp as new on first side still.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Really enjoing this addition to the shop I purchased this planer a month ago and have been very happy so far. I did have to adjust both feed tables, but once the were positioned correctly snipe was minimal. People have to remember that this is a small planer and if you’re putting something longer than a foot or so through it you need to support it bith going in and coming out or you’ll get snipe. Between this and the craftsman jointer i can make some pretty nice tabletops.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Craftsman 15 Amp Bench Planer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this Bench Planer only for a couple of weeks now, I have had good results with it so far. I have not had big projects to test it with yet but it handles the small ones just fine. All in all, I like the decision of getting this Planer.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Pretty pleased with this so far [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This planer is pretty nice and fairly inexpensive. I was on the fence between this one and the DeWalt for a hundred bucks more. At the end of the day I'm not a professional woodworker, so I opted to get the craftsman. And I don't regret it. The dewalt has a few nicer features, like 3 blades and a depth of cut indicator (Which is different from a thickness indicator), which is the only real knock I have against this planer. I had the chance to use the planer for the first time tonight, I was milling some rough cut walnut down from ~5/4" to 3/4". Setup was pretty easy, although the tables did not come completely level out of the box, and I needed to take apart the middle table to get the blue plastic film off (A little annoying). To set this planer up you should set it on a LEVEL bench top and use a level to get the outer tables level with the inner table by adjusting the 4 bolts under them. It took me a few minutes, but easy enough. The dust collection works quite well, and it's very nice that you can put it together with the chute facing either way. With my shop vac the thing is practically dust free... I was astounded by that. There is a bit of snipe in the last 2" if you do not set something for outfeeding the board to hold up the end as it slides out. Once I set up a piece of wood roughly level with the outfeed table on the planer the snipe was mostly gone. This is fairly typical with lunchbox planers that I've seen... But if you've set it up well from the start and you set something up to catch your piece as it comes out, this shouldn't be a big deal. It also leaves a very nice smooth surface on the wood, which I was pleasantly surprised by. I'll still have to sand, but it looks pretty nice right out of the planer. I did knock a star off because the Dewalt has some better features and the setup was a bit finicky at first. And also because the height adjustment handle has more play in it than the dewalt does (I tried both in the store, the dewalt has practically none). Overall I highly recommend this tool. I think it's better than the other options in the same price class.
