Sturdy and attractive steps
The metal is very sturdy. Instructions would have made construction easier, but in the end, it all went together well. Position the stringers upside down. If using wood, be sure to center the same distances, mark screw holes to maintain each step in position. Then screw them down, again from the underside. I used the smaller holes and added 4 screws on each end of the steps. Probably overkill but I had the screws. (If you have more than 2 steps, you probably want help turning the steps over and setting them up.) At this point, you want to screw the steps to the porch. I pre-leveled the cap blocks under the last step, before setting in place and attaching the steps.

Great for the price
Coated with black covering, I assume it is paint. Rubberized covering on each step plate. Easy access to mounting holes. Open on top and bottom of each support allows water to easily pass through. These holes were coated black as well. Sturdy. Able to easily support several hundred pounds.

Easy way to build stairs
Replaced a wooden staircase that was only two years old and already has cracked flexing stairs. I figured that this would make changing stair boards easier in the future. Also, they install easily which is good for people like me with virtually no carpentry skills.

Pretty pretty good
Like the metal design screwing in the stairs was tricky because you have to screw it in on the back side and it’s hard to get a tool in there.
