how much clearance from roof do you need
The patio heater should have at least 50" of clearance from the top of the reflector to any ceiling or covering. It should also have at least 50" of clearance from the side of the reflector to any wall or surface.

In order to fit the heater under my metal patio cover I need a max height of about 82 inches. Given the heater mfg. height is 87 inches; can I "cut down" the pole from 87 inches to 82 inches and not affect the performance of the unit?

Very Pleased!
This heater was easy to put together and worked like a charm on the first click of the starter. It throws a decent heat and will extend our patio season on either side of summer. It looks great - love the colour and love how simply the bottom lifts to install the propane tank. It wheels nicely around the patio. We're excited to be able to have a couple of friends over (finally) and visit with them safely and warmly on the back patio. It was just what we wanted!

Works beautifully
Bought this online. Arrived on time and was easy to assemble. Starts very easily and heats up my outdoor patio late in the evening when it cools down. Product arrived with 1 piece slightly damaged. I called the company directly and they were very helpful and a new part arrived the next day. Looking forward to using this all summer and into the fall.

We owned this for less then a year and the enirre unit has rusted away. The head is the only part that has not degraded. The housing for the base, the stem and everything else is just pile of rust. This is complete junk.
