Can the doors be trimmed to a width of 28 inches?
No not enough wood on edges to allow for that great a cut.

can this 80" high door be cut down to fit a 77" opening ?
There is a 78” option which would be a better staring point. But yes the door can be cut down. You will need to drill holes for the pivot hardware. The doors are hollow, with wood framing only around the perimeter. If you cut too much, you risk cutting beyond the wood framing which will weaken the pivots. You should probably cut an equal amount off the top and bottom.

Can two kits be hung side by side for a 60x80 opening?
yes they can be, you double them up usually for bigger openings ie ( 2 24" bifolds for a 48" inch openening and so on

are the pannels in these door deep, or are they shallow? i know they make two types of these doors and I need shallow one to match existing door in the house.
The height of the opening is 77". Can the doors be trimmed shorter to fit?

Ive installed a lot of bi fold doors from Lowe’s Canada and honestly am not thrilled with them. They chip easily and the edges almost always end up with a peeled portion. The hardware is also super cheesy and I’ve had to replace pieces before the doors were even in a couple times. They aren’t horrible but quality is certainly not a high point

Great door for the cost
Door was ordered online and picked up in store. Condition was great, no chips or dings. The install was easy and instructions were also easy to follow. Pleased with it , now just need to get them painted.

Great door but wrong height
Doors actually measure 30” x 78.5” so I had to add extensions to each panel so they would fit.
