Description

Quality JD Part for less than the JD Dealer Price
This was an exact fit for my LA130 Automatic. Quality JD OE part for about $6-7 less (after tax) than what my local JD Dealer wanted. Quick and easy replacement. Had the old one off and the new one on in about 20 minutes (removed the deck, slid it out, swapped belts, and deck back on) and I was off to mowing. Will comment later if durability is an issue, but I don't see why it would be since I only use my mower twice a week at home and I got close to 5 years out of the last one.

Good quality belt
This is a good quality belt. However, it can get pretty hot transmitting 22 horsepower. I've had two break when I kept mowing through tall grass. It's better to take a rest break after 20-30 minutes and let things cool off.

Wrong part number for my mower
The website and in store look-up shows this belt for a 48 inch mower deck. But in teeny tiny print it says not for mowers with a certain series of serial numbers. For my particular mower deck even though it is 48 inch it takes a larger (longer) belt which has a different part number. The correct belt was only available in town at a John Deere dealer.

belt review
on my 4th belt for S160 John Deere Lawn Tractor. Have 14 hours on engine. 1st broke after engaging electric clutch. 2nd after 1 hour. 3rd after 3 hrs. 4th; who knows how long. NO; there's nothing wrong with anything on the mower deck. Mower looks like it's never been used. Keep all greaseable items greased and any debris cleaned from deck. The electric clutch is the problem. Instant on or off with no gradual engagement of belt. All other lawn tractors still had original belts on them when traded for next mower. This belt needs to be stronger. JD! Make a stronger belt or someone else. Any Suggestions?

Great John Deere tractor
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] However, we had to replace this belt on a brand new John Deere tractor we bought there a month ago. Belt should never have broken on a brand new tractor!

E170 deck belt
First one that came with new mower lasted 10 hours 2ed one now has 85 hours on it the trick is after about 2 hours turn it off and cool it down with a water hose for about 2 minutes than it's good to go don't forget to use wd40 on the pulleys from time to time or you will have the bearings go out on them and grease the spenders too I do mine once a week just a pump or to it's the life of them

Perfect replacement belt
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our V-belt broke on a Saturday afternoon, the 48 inch is the perfect fit for our 42 inch deck, 300x John Deer series. Lowes was the only store here in town who had it on hand! We weren’t sure which size belt to buy, so we bought one of each the 42”and the 48”i length. On the back of the package you can see the layout of the belt. It took about 20 mins to replace the old with the new. Perfect fit! So pay atttention to the layout, otherwise it may not be the right size belt after all.
