Easy to install
I would recommend this product for its size and for how easy it was to install. Must mention that the cost was inexpensive. I like the fact how easy it was to obtain. I just went online, purchase it and was able to pick it up in Lowes store nearest to me, within or less than an hour. It was ready for me to pick up at the Customer Service desk in less than 5 minutes .

After purchasing from an knock off that wouldn't allow water to flow properly I went back to the
Original GE appliance online as soon as I popped it in the water gushed through you get what you pay for

I'm really disappointed with GE and their replacement filters. Several of the replacement filters come in very similar boxes and the number of the filter is difficult to find and read. I actually purchased the WRONG filter at an extremely high price. When I put it in the refrigerator, the water and ice maker would not work. Not realizing my mistake, a repairman was called and that service call cost an additional $80 on top of the $42 filter. If I had known before purchasing the GE appliance the cost of the filters, I would definitely have looked at a different brand.

I went to Lowes and asked for the filter for my refrigerator. I furnished the model number. The clerk researched the computer and then gave me a filter. I said it didn't look like the same filter. The clerk told me it was a replacement filter. I went home and found that the filter did not fit the socket for the filter. I looked at the threads and saw it was different and would not fit. I ordered a filter from another company on line and returned the filter to Lowes for credit.

We bought our new refrigerator a year ago and this is the first time I have had to replace the filter. I drink lots of water daily and we use lots of ice. So I would say this filter lasts a year with heavy usage. Makes the water and ice taste great.
