I read all the comments here, doesn't make sense
I have electrolux frigidaire for over 3 years that uses the same filter.
I used that filter to begin with and no issues.
There is big difference drinking the Tap water or the water from the fridge.
The water from the fridge taste really good you can really taste the difference.
After the first filter I bought a different company, almost the same taste and everything.
It was just lower price than this one.
I guess this one I can hopefully trust more than the other ones,
But with whatever filter you will put you will taste the difference.

NOT RECYCLABLE
A heavy hunk of single use plastic? That I'm supposed to throw in a landfill every 2-6 months? Can this company not make it from recyclable materials and repurpose the carbon etc inside? Bought a house that came with a fridge that uses these filters. I can't bring myself to buy a replacement filter so the system will go unused at the end of the current filter's life.

I am wondering if it is necessary to use the filter in order for the water system to function. Can I not just skip the water filter (not put one in) and get water without it? I can't find an answer to my question anywhere on this site or in the booklet.
