Purdy Brushes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purdy brushes are the best on the market. I have been using them for over forty years, maybe longer. I still have brushes that are close to twenty years old. They clean up good and always hold their form. I bought these to retire some of my older brushes. I used Purdy to hand paint my kitchen cabinets and they look better than if I sprayed them. People can't believe I did all the fine work free hand with no drips or holidays. Oh!, I forgot to tell you I'm 78 years young. Why wast your money on cheap brushes that you have to throw away. I would show you pictures, but I don't know how to attach them.

An excellent brush… for most paints, but not all
I have bought literally cases of these brushes. They are excellent quality. However, when I switched to Benjamin Moore Aura paint (a heavy bodied paint), these brushed failed completely, and I stopped buying them.
The brush lacks the bristle firmness to spread the heavy paint as you are cutting in. The result is sags in your cut. In fact, I have been unable to find any Purdy brush able to handle Aura® paints, not even the brushes labelled "firm". Too bad.
If you are using normal, lighter paints, this brush will do you well, although it is extremely expensive.
I have been a professional painter for 45+ years.

My Favorite Brushes
Love these brushes for cutting in and detail work like trim when painting indoors and out. If you clean them carefully after each use they will be useful for years. Clean edges, smooth coverage time after time. A better purchase than cheaper brushes. Be sure to buy a "brush comb" to help get all the paint out of the bristles. I live in Arizona so I sometimes moisten the bristles with a little distilled water before loading them with latex primer or latex paint especially when painting outdoors, helps make clean up easier. The variety pack is a good deal. Happy Painting!

This is the brush to buy, forget buying cheap brushes. You get what you pay for.
I have started renewing furniture from garage sales and other places. I had to find out the hard way that when you buy a paint brush it really pays to buy a good one. I purchased the Purdy brand because I trusted it. I display my end products at shows where other people are doing the same. I know people ask "What kind of brushes do you use and paint?" Of course I believe that when I put my name on the finished products they look great, no brush strokes and no loosing hair from the brush it self. Take care of your brushes and they take care of you. I look forward to investing in additional brushes and trying the rollers soon.

Can't buy a better brush & worth every penny!
Purdy just makes real, quality, paintbrushes! Quality in the way grandpa talked about it... Not the way we think of it now. It can seem hard to pay a little more when you are a DIY'er, but these brushes give you long lasting performance so they prove thier worth to you time and again. Money well spent! These brushes always feel good in your hand, and are comfortable to work with. Trust me, after 10 hours you WILL feel a difference! I've worked around a lot of pro's and looked to see what they use. The only brush I've seen in thier bag has been Purdy.
I also love the fact that they are 100% made in the USA. It gives me a lot of pride to know we can still make tools of this caliber!
PS. My wife even LOVES to paint with these brushes!

The ONLY brushes I will ever buy!
I have used Purdy paint brushes for many years and they are by far the very best. It makes painting so much easier and faster when you spend a little more and get better brushes. They do not shed the bristles like the cheaper brushes do. They are soft and the angle brushes are perfect, they slide across the walls with ease like up close to the ceilings and all the trim. I never use tape anymore because I have a pretty steady hand anyway and with the Purdy angle brushes paint doesn't get on the ceiling or trim. I tried one years ago and have used them since and refuse to buy any thing but. They clean up great and are soft and like new...last for years and years.

Better brushes matter!
I did an internet search on paint brushes that didn’t create brush lines and Purdy came up. Went to Lowe’s.com ordered and picked up curbside. I used the brushes to paint contour edges on my cabinets and drawer fronts. What an amazing product! I’m not the best painter with a steady hand but these are great brushes at an affordable price! I even washed them with tide :) and used over and over again!

Brushes
Great brushes for the money. The small cut-in/edge brush is awesome..like a real tool for doing edging and close cut-ins. Nice job!
