Fine for homeowners, but lacks torque
Purchased this drill to replace an 18V Dewalt drill that had lasted about 12 years. I assumed moving up to a 20V drill, that this would have the same kind of power to get the same jobs done. However, in our last project that included drilling and driving screws into studs, this drill obviously doesn't have the same torque as our old DeWalt. Will be upgrading to a DeWalt drill/impact driver combo after about nine months with this Craftsman. That said, it's fine for the casual homeowner who just needs a drill to take care of routine maintenance issues, and it is convenient that its battery is interchangeable with my Craftsman trimmer and leaf blower.

pretty good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I started out with Craftsman 19.2V in about 2006. I have since switched to Porter Cable 20v ( the entire line minus the nailers) this new 20v line looks the same as the Porter Cable yet to me, does not have the same power. I just don't feel it driving screws. I work in building maintenance and use a drill or impact daily, I bought this on Black Friday on sale so I could at least start in the Craftsman platform. it's a decent drill for doing light construction/ DIY/in shop activities. Better than the old 19.2v stuff but not quite as good as Porter Cable 20V.

Homeowners drill
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent drill for the homeowner. Gets all the jobs done around the house with ease. The only drawback if any is that it is heavy. I just had to hang 16 window blinds and after a day of holding it above my head, my shoulders were telling me maybe I should have gotten something lighter. But for the price and my uses just around the house, it’s the perfect drill. It has plenty of power to get most jobs done. The battery life is excellent. I put the battery on the charger during a break for lunch but I probably didn’t even need to do that.

Can't live without this Crafty Craftsman!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one woman who may be married but I raised my 2 daughters as my mother raised me to be very independent! BUT..I cannot live without this Craftsman Drill that I mostly use as a screwdriver. I have no use for regular screwdrivers anymore & I consider them a waste of time! The Craftsman can do so much so fast, why bother with using any other tools?! I need to drill, I drill. I need the use of a screwdriver, I have all in one! And SO FAST! AND NO BATTERIES TO BUY...RECHARGEABLE!! What else is there to say?! Many , many jobs to do....One tool needed!

Companion to other Craftsman Tools
My Black & Decker Firestorm is aging. I have a Craftsman Trimmer and Leaf Blower. I wanted a companion tool to share batteries. The drill is lightweight, nice having the light, easy to change bits. I've been using it to drill starter holes for woodwork and as a driver for screws. It's been what I needed. Nice having other batteries if needed. Haven't used it for any major projects; nothing planned for the time being. That would be a major test, but if one's performing building construction or heavy work another drill would be the option. For general household tasks a good investment.

Disappointing Downfall on Quality
I own an older Craftsman 19.2v tool set and most of it today still works. The drill in the set finally gave out, so I decided to purchase this new model. I hoped that the quality was good as it was years earlier. I was really disappointed when the 2nd speed in the gear box gave out after several days of use. The drill was being used as it's stated a drill and driver. I drilled wood and was setting screws. The drill is manufactured by Stanley Black and Decker. I returned the drill and the extra batteries, and purchased a higher end brand manufactured by Stanley Black and Decker. The current new drill works really well.

Great drill
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this drill for a few weeks now and find it to be sturdy and powerful enough for most of my drilling needs. The light is brighter than my Bosch drill but a little heavier. I find myself using it more than my Bosh. I think you cannot go wrong with this drill. It still shows a full charge after me using it many times in the past couple of weeks.

Worst cordless product I’ve ever owned
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a Christmas gift and I honestly feel bad a family member wasted their hard earned money on it. It all started when the batteries have the same a/h rating as my DeWalt and last about a 1/4 of the time. Then I was using the drill tonight and it melted down while using a Brand new 3” hole saw drilling through my subfloor. How can a product produced by the same company has DeWalt be made so poorly. Honestly thinking about switching All my cordless to Milwaukee or Makita and never owning a Stanley Black and decker product again
