Another fail by EasyHeat
Bought 2 of these - one 24' and one 12' to deal with a problem section of pipe. I was hesitant as I had previously used another item by EasyHeat - which was basically useless - but it was literally the only choice I had. This cable worked OK for a very short while. The 12' length stopped working completely after only a few days use. The 24' piece continues to work - sort of - although just like the other EasyHeat item - the "thermostat" is worthless. It is currently 22 deg outdoors and it won't apply the current although it is supposed to come on at 38 deg. If you are looking for something to work as advertised I'd avoid EasyFreeze products.

Heat tracing lines for the campin trailer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have heat traced the gray and black tank disposal valves because they froze shut in our first hard freeze this winter. Took about 15 minutes to install and have had no problems since then and have had quite a few nights in the low 20s. I also used another cord just a bit longer to heat trace the water hose that feeds the trailer. Took about an hour to tape it up and then cover it all with insulation. Once again no further problems, set for the remainder of the winter.

A Very Useful Product
I went to Lowe's on an evening when the temperature was on the way down into the teens in Fayetteville, NC. This isn't a normal occurrence, so everyone was scrambling to try to keep their water pipes and outdoor faucets from freezing.
When I got to the store, all the tapes the length I needed were already sold, so I picked up the 24 ft one. I only needed about 3 feet, but the tape worked very well. I was impressed with the built in thermostat. I think it was a good value.
