Buy a different one.
I got this as a Christmas gift and haven't used it at all until earlier this week. I was wood burning a buck into a piece of wood and I decided to switch out the tips. I thought I got it out successfully, but when I went to put the other tip in I couldn't get it in because the previous tip had broken off inside. The next day I tried glueing the tip in and letting it sit over night. The next morning I tried to unscrew it and it wouldn't come I tired everything and now the threads aren't there anymore. It is completely un usable.

Useless instructions.
I just bought this and brought it home. Opened the package to and reviewed the instructions but they dont tell you how to use it. I get that you plug it in, but no information about how long it takes to heat up, how to change the tips, or which tip is which. For a beginner these instructions are useless.

Broken bit, no longer can use the tool
I've had the Dremel tool for less than a month, purchased it from a small Mom and Pop craft store. After a few times of use, it started to loose its thread, there by making it very hard to swap bits. I then had a bit break off into the tool, and its in so deep I can't get it out. Stinks because I was enjoying the tool.

Good tool
I have 2 of them and one I have had over 20 years and probably has 2000 hours of woodburning. I bought the second because I though the first was dying as it’s so old but both do a phenomenal job

Tip broke off
I bought this back in August and finally got around to using it. The hot knife worked perfectly and cut through what I needed with ease. Unfortunately the tip broke the next day when my dad tried to use it. I was lucky that the threads didn't get stuck inside, but now I am without the hot knife which was the whole reason why I bought this in the first place.

Razor blade tip is garbage
The blade tip wont stay in as the fitting is too loose, no temperature control.

Dremel VersaTip 1550
Been very happy with several Dremel products I own but not this one! The second time using this multi tool the tip broke off inside the shaft making it totally useless. Very disappointed this Dremel product could not withstand woodburning wooden spoons. I have to say I really like the short shaft for easier control. Please Dremel make this right & restore my faith in your products

Cuts thin acrylic plastic
I needed something that can cut thin (1/16") acrylic plastic. The web indicated I could use a hot knife and this one did the trick! Although nothing here or anywhere else seems to indicate how to get more blades, the tool seems to just use standard X-acto knife blades.
Bad news: this tool is NOT compatible with the Dremel 202 VersaTip Cutting kjnife (even though Dremel claims the knife is "Compatible with Dremel VersaTip tools".
