Good Saw
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an entry level Dewalt reciprocating saw which means its better than most of the economy saws. It is so much better than the Porter Cable that I have been using for a couple years. I build a lot of things from pallets and this is the tool that saves time in breaking them down. Well worth the extra for this one and if you can afford it and you really need a workhorse go up to the 13 amp. But for the home owner who wants to get things done like a decking some demo work this is perfect. The picture below is an outdoor pirate bar made from pallets and boy did I need a good recip. saw

Awesome saw!
Great saw!! I have never owned a reciprocating saw previously, but this has been the best choice I could have made.
Immediate impressions are it is a solid, well-built saw, with exceptional balance. The four-way blade placement options make it extremely versatile. There is plenty of power, and the variable speed is very responsive. A great saw for anyone. Recommend practicing your cuts on scrap prior to using on your actual project if you have never used one before. Also, online videos provide a very useful reference on how to use the different blade positions.

Great Present!
I received the 10-Amp Keyless Variable Speed Corded Reciprocating Saw as a present (from my wife) for my recent Birthday, and was so excited to finally own this item. I could not wait to begin using it on my current deck bulding project. However,I was slightly disappointed because the blades were not included with this item. My wife said "just wait"... because the blades were the next gift I opened- so all ended well. The saw worked great-it did not struggle one bit cutting through the old 4x4 posts and deck boards!!! Cutting through the new composite boards worked with little effort! Very durable product! Makes a great gift, too!!!

Great Saw with Unique Feature
I bought this saw to clean up some storm damage and am amazed at its rugged ability. I used it to cut up a 3000 bushel grain bin that was ripped apart in a severe winter storm. The saw cut through the metal with ease and I ended up cutting the bin into small manageable pieces so we are talking hundreds of feet of cutting. It took several metal cutting blades to get the job done but, the saw performed flawlessly. It was a task much larger than this saw should have been able to do but it did it with ease. I have since used it on several demolition projects around the farm and it continues to amaze me. It is light and easy to manuever yet still quite powerful and the 4 position blade clamp comes in very handy for hard to reach places. This is a great saw!

Power and Performance for a Great Price
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cheap, Chinese brand from a local store (HF) pooped-out on me within an hour of using it - the replacement didn't fare too well either. You get what you pay for. So I picked up this puppy at my local Lowe's and haven't looked back. With the proper blades - it cuts thru everything. Blade changes are quick and easy, and the 4 position tool head is a nice feature that has come in handy on multiple occasions. I'm in the process of pruning a rather large tree in the backyard - and this saw is proving to be quite the workhorse. While you're at Lowe's be sure to stock up on replacement blades, and change yours frequently - a dull blade is a disaster waiting to happen.

Easy
I needed a reciprocating saw to demolish an old deck. This saw worked great and had no troubled sawing through several damp 4x4 post. I have since used it to cut metal pipe, make a cut out for a window, and remove a couple walls. It is easy to swap blades and the ability to turn the blade 90 degrees is great for close cuts. It is smooth and not any louder than expected. My wife has used it a few times and she also finds it easy to handle.

Sloppy and Loose Shaft
Reputable brand and OK price so I figgured I would try it. Within a day of starting to use it to cut wood with nails and screws in it, the blade started to wobble. The shaft and the blade holder became very loose and sloppy where it was not cutting properly and it had problems holding the blade. NEVER had that problem for 25+ years with my old Craftsman that finally died. I guess reputation and reliability aren't what they used to be. I did return it to the store, but I still need a reciprocating saw, so I just exchanged it. I'm hoping the first one was just a lemon and ALL Dewalt saws aren't this shoddy. We will see I guess.

Big power in a little frame.
I used this itm in a bedroom remodel. It made quick work of removing plaster and lathe wall covering. I only needed to change the blade. This saw never skipped a beat, and I have since used it on other projects without a hiccough. This would make an amazing addition to anyones tool arsenal. I highly recommend this tool.
And now on to my next remodel.
